I’m sure there are some members here of mi6community, I can’t enter the site, whenever I try to reach the site, there’s this showing “A Timeout Occured” or “SSL Handshake failed” on cloudflare.

I installed some other browsers to cope with it, but I still can’t enter.

How can I find a solution to this? Is it me or it’s really the problem of the mi6community site itself?

Is anyone also experiencing this problem now?

Usually, problems like this are with the site itself. Should be fixed by now, as I can enter the site without any troubles (wether inaccessibility of the MI6 site is actually a problem depends on one’s point of view :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:).

It has happened before (but it’s been a while since the last time). If it takes longer, we usually have a number of MI6 members coming over here, debating what happened and sometimes join our discussions. They get a warm welcome and sometimes, there’s a bit of friendly banter. They usually disappear when the site is up again.

John Williams would like to write BOND 26 score…

I’d like John Williams to write the BOND 26 score, too

Who wouldn’t!?!

I’d be happy to give him a shot. Though currently at age 90, it’s likely not feasible and probably ideally 20 years too late.

John Williams is one of four composers I would have loved hearing their score for a James Bond film that never got to do one. The other three are/were Henry Mancini, Lalo Schiffrin, and Jerry Goldsmith.

I don’t know if this is possible, but before it’s too late and he is no longer with us…If they are smart they let compose him a score and than edit the next movie to this already composed and recorded music.

And this is how headlines work, folks:

“I’d love to write the next James Bond score, says John Williams at 90” implies that he floated the idea and really wants to do it.

The article then actually reveals that the reporter asked him: "Asked whether he would like to create work for James Bond, Williams said: “I’d love it.” - Which is the same as asking someone how he likes the country/city/whatever and getting the reply: I love it!

Not news, just an odd find on YouTube, a German language interview with Gerd Fröbe, probably for German television. Interestingly done from what seems to be the actual film prop DB5.

Sadly, there are no English subtitles for this feature, but most of it is known anyway. Fröbe talks about being hired because Broccoli & Saltzman saw him in IT HAPPENED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. Then some about having had roles in France already and being happy to enter the English market with such a high profile production. And about the strenuous sfx shooting of his demise hanging from piano wire.

Only thing I had not heard before: Fröbe claims Orson Welles was supposedly also considered for the role. It’s not clear how serious that claim was. Welles has apparently been mentioned time and again for various villain parts - until he actually appeared in the rival 67 CASINO ROYALE. But Welles as Goldfinger was news to me.

Interesting.

I’ve always had Orson Welles in mind when alternate casting for Auric Goldfinger.

Thanks Dustin.
