For members in the London area, this is good news. It is never too early to introduce one’s offspring to Bond or Kurosawa.
This showed up in my newsfeed, and the premise is really bothering me. I think of superheroes as fighting for the everyday person, not the billionaire class. So, unless the killer is targeting someone like Oliver Queen or Bruce Wayne specifically, I’m not sure why this is Black Canary’s story.
This is the world of DC, wouldn’t it make more sense for the billionaires to hire someone like Deathstroke to take care of the problem? In fact, if they want a billionaire serial killer story, then it should be about the ensuing arms race, where the billionaires all try to get themselves super-powered mercenaries for protection.
I just feel that with everything that’s happening in the news at the moment, a superhero story about protecting billionaires feels a little tone-deaf. Or, if I were feeling really cynical, I’d say that a billionaire serial killer could be regarded as the hero.
She looks like Christmas Jones.
I am watching now on the BBC2 James Bond songs with “live” performance of Moby, Bassey etc.
Not putting any specific article up here, but the usual tabloid rags - Sun, Daily Express, Mail - all insist there’s an announcement ‘imminent’ and shooting would supposedly begin by the end of 2026. Noteworthy since they apparently all were briefed simultaneously.
Had to delve into those… and indeed, something seems to be brewing.
Good idea to have kept everybody thinking it won´t happen soon - and then to pull that rug from under us. If Villeneuve indeed plans to shoot at the end of this year, even late fall, they must have been very busy developing the script and casting the main actor.
Interesting.
Coincidence that this also gets asked again now?
I suppose GQ either wasn’t in the loop (they don’t belong to the tabloid circuit) - or they just decided not to run the same story as the other outlets but give it a twist instead. Since this isn’t Eon any more nobody can tell for sure whether the song isn’t indeed already being decided upon. Even the current Oasis rumour could have substance.
Or not. ![]()
In any event, the death of WB is bad for everyone but the billionaires who profit from it.
And expect CNN to become the next Fox News.
It was never going to end well. But sensible move by Netflix to refuse spending on even higher ̶b̶̶r̶̶i̶̶b̶̶e̶̶s̶ gifts for the regime. Better to be not publicly seen spending on that stuff when you have to publish regularly audited accounts. You never know how long the powers that be actually are in power…
Sarandos is just waiting for the new Paramount to ruin itself so he can buy the library of both studios for a much cheaper price.
Well, as far as ‘imminent’ announcements go this one obviously takes a little longer to simmer. Could of course be the most recent little military extravaganza stole this event’s thunder. But since there’s no presser with the usual industry observers anywhere on the horizon this Saturday it seems the whole affair may not yet be quiet so imminent after all. ![]()
Bond‘s future might be as much in the cards now as everybody‘s.
Oh, so there is a time machine?
This is the first paragraph:
„One of the most significant mergers in Hollywood history may have cleared federal antitrust review — a week before it was even announced.“
Early on, as this piece dug out by @dalton states.
According to one recent Steve Knight interview on BBC Radio 4 things are basically unchanged: going forward with a long long road ahead:
No ‘imminent announcements’ to be expected.
“There is something about the world that he created that is tangibly real, and yet it’s something that isn’t real. It’s almost like dreamlike somehow. And I just love the style of how he writes, and the dialogue is so good. Which is what I’m always looking out for," he said.
Very promising comment from Knight. Good to see he’s aware Bond’s world is an elevated existence above ours. Gives me hope the film won’t abandon a sense of theatricality even if the overall tone is more dark and psychological.
It’s saying something without saying something to keep a subject in the conversation.
I‘d rather he keeps his mouth shut. Would be more truthful.
It would mainly suggest whoever kicked off the recent noise did it to a)peddle BS and/or b)to jog the betting odds for a day or two.
