I was surprised how nervous the steely BB was and felt embarassed by her overstated gratefulness to DC. Really, it almost feels as if he has something on her.
DC himself did his speech in a way which also put his awkwardness on full display. Shouldn‘t a great actor be able to do a few minutes with confidence?
"We see this as our task, and our investment is aimed at creating real touchpoints with the fans and involving them.”
Seems to come from the same playbook that politicians are using nowadays–claiming that they are doing something for their fans/supporters, while engaging in actions that enrich themselves, and (on occasion) peripherally help others.
It’s very likely simply a pirate move that’s going to end up expensively dumped into court archives. Unless this guy happens to play golf with a certain character. The crisis is partly driven by a concentration on high-end dramas that can be sold overseas. Patrick Spence, executive producer of the huge ITV hit Mr Bates vs the Post Office told the Sunday Times: “If you ask me if we’d make Mr Bates vs The Post Office today, the answer is ‘absolutely not’.”
While this may at first look unrelated to any major production like Bond would surely be, it’s a fundamental threat to the entire industry, weakening its options for talent and creativity. This is not a good development.
