What’s the consensus over here on Hans Zimmer scoring the film - POLL ADDED

I love the moment when Hans Zimmer remembers how Eilish told him about one of his over the top elements: “I don’t like it.”

She’s the one who has to sing with it, so…y’know…fair enough.

Guitars!!!

Yeah, but still no riff. Basically, the same as Spectre… I miss the Connery/Moore era when we had different sound for every movie.
However, I quite like the build up after the gunbarrel.

Lovely that the gun barrel is included AND is not Zimmerized in a synth heavy way! And the tracklist seems to indicate that a fanboy wish has come true.

Interesting that the video reveals an appearance of a certain character in the finale.

Oh man, I absolutely love it. There’s a cool swagger about this track. I personally believe the opening segue-in to Zimmer’s main theme was mandated by the studio, much like Newman re-using Arnold’s ‘The Name’s Bond, James Bond’ in Skyfall and SPECTRE.

The soundtrack album is now up for pre order on iTunes and Amazon globally, along with the gunbarrel cue available to buy/download separately now, including on Spotify

exclusive picture disc vinyl up for pre order at indie record stores (important: this is 1LP as opposed to 2LP so half the OST is cut here. And from description there may be more than one special edition of this)

EDIT: well that sold out FAST - limited edition soundtrack pack, signed by Hans Zimmer. Includes alternate “girl power” version of the Picture Disc LP I posted earlier, the full 2LP OST and the Bond 25 RPO tribute album 3LP

The Girl Power LP is available separately https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recordstore/recordstore/Bond-No-Time-To-Die-Limited-Edition-Girl-Power-Picture-Disc-Vinyl/6Q8H0000000

I like this gunbarrel music, but I think I’m a little underwhelmed because it doesn’t really sound distinctly “Zimmer.” Every non-Barry composer from 1973-1995–Martin, Hamlisch, Conti, Kamen and Serra–all put their own distinct stamp on the gunbarrel cue, but this one doesn’t sound too different from the SPECTRE one to my ears.

Same here. This gunbarrel music is not bad, it is just the same again. Kamen and Serra really made their own version of it, but both Newmann and Zimmer re-use the Arnold sound. Is there a deal somewhat between EON and Arnold saying they have to use his patented track whenever he is not doing the score, so that he gets royalties?
What a missed opportunity. It is just like if both Kamen and Serra had reused that violin-riff sound from Barry. Waiting for the rest of the soundtrack; anyway this is just the gunbarrel.

I am also not a fan of starting the music during the film company logo and not waiting until the gunbarrel begins.

It’s very repetitive of Spectre, with a few promising flourishes. I was hoping for a lot of crashing brass and the twangiest twang of Bond theme over the blood. But hey, Zimmer now has time to fix it!

Will the score still release now ? Given that the movie has been delayed. @antovolk
