I’m not sure Britain v China would really be WWWIII: more a swift and crushing defeat for GB against a vastly superior power. Now 1967 war between USSR and USA really would have been it!

Maybe, maybe not. Would depend on the alliances involved and what each ally nation decided to do in terms of jumping into aid/defend one side or the other. Britain being able to bring another major power into the fight with them would have set the table for a potential global conflict.

I know they are henchmen and not the main villain,but Mr Kidd and Mr won’t are Just creepy and scary! The line about “taking pictures of the canals for the children” as the drowned body of their teacher is pulled out of the canal has to be the best ever !!

They don’t strike me as evil persay, just consumete professionals, teacher had to die, but why should the children suffer not having cool pictures from an exotic locale.

They are the perfect blend of dark comedy and creepiness but likeable in a strange way. Maybe another pair of actor’s wouldn’t have pulled it off as well…

In their minds/script, they are the main villain, and act in accord with that belief (which is scary).
Putter Smith wasn’t even an actor–he was a jazz musician and teacher spotted at a Thelonious Monk concert.

Stromberg and Drax wanted to wipe out humanity and fill the planet with their new species - fascist evil.
Elliot Carver was ready to start WWIII (with millions dead or possible complete annihilation of whole countries) for ratings - cynically evil.
Safin wanted the whole world “tidier” and was ready to infect humanity with his virus - cynical fascist evil.
Blofeld, mainly, is in it for the money. He is actually a rather conventional power player fueled by greed.
