The begging and arrogance that Cavill is the only choice turns me off. All it does is set up their negativity campaign when he doesn’t get the job. I want someone else. As casting becomes real the less I’d want Brosnan coming back too, and he won’t. He’s had his day. This should be about getting someone younger and setting up a new generation.

I haven’t heard of him before now but I wouldn’t be worried if Francis is attached to the role. Younger, 6’2, known for stage work. I could see him being suitable.

This Bond will not make jokes about the young Q, he will call him bro and go on a bender.
Aren’t they doing a second Shogun series? That - and his age - might be a hindrance. But Jarvis might be a good call if this was an ‘ordinary’ recast for Bond.
That aside I would think any agent worth their paycheque must try to get their clients into this. However it turns out it’s going to be THE industry talking point for years and even worth a headline or two decades after the fact. It’s perhaps more valuable than an Academy Award - or a very public snubbing.
This guy is a full 30 years younger than Daniel Craig. That would be quite the generational shift if Amazon went for someone that young. We’ve never seen a Bond transition that drastic before.
Then the series will have died for me with the death of Bond.
It is a new start. The EON era will be classic Bond.
The Amazon era will be… well, hopefully not the equivalent to the Star Wars sequels.
They’re going to audition a bunch of people. They had some actors who were quite a bit younger than Craig (Cavill, Friend, etc.) read for Casino Royale and ended up going in a different direction at the end of the day, so it’s really a non-issue for me at this point.
We’ll hear a bunch about this and that person supposedly having auditioned for it. There were a ton of names in the lead-up to Casino Royale, such as the supposed “Final Four”, and none of that panned out either.
Lazenby was not yet 30 when he did ON HER MAJESTY’S, it still worked very well. It’s also possible they cast a young-ish actor (and SIS support team) but don’t really address it other than with the fresh faces.
Of course, if the script makes a lot out of it it’d be awkward if Bond were late 30s/early 40s. But nothing would stop Amazon from just pretending this was the(ir) first ever Bond film and everything just business as usual. That’s the preferred fiction after all…
The difference to Craig’s casting is, 20 years ago Eon had to humour MGM/Sony and some of the candidates certainly were just there to make the Craig case stronger. Not sure they need to play that same game with BOND 26.
Gala and I did our test years ago. Sadly we’ve probably aged out - albeit like a good bottle of Bollinger or malt whiskey - for the direction their going.
However, if they should decide to do a true period piece adaptation of Moonraker, they need to look no further.

I enjoyed Rogue One and The Force Awakens. The prequels and everything since The Force Awakens just didn’t engage me.
A good analogy for what not to do with Bond.
Star Wars downfall is when they listened to “fan” feedback…so as long as they dont do anything they saw on twitter or by an 
influencer they shouldnt fall into that trap.
Bond does have one advantage over Star Wars in that it’s a reboot and not a continuation. There shouldn’t be any ‘homework’ as the filmmakers are going in with a clean slate.
