I’m still a Henry Cavill guy, but of the candidates listed in the Independent article, my top choice (and my second choice overall) would be Callum Turner. As for the rest of the candidates listed in the article, I don’t see James Bond from any of them–although the Patrick Gibson possibility is intriguing based on his performance on First Light and I wouldn’t rule him out. But one other under-the-radar choice I would consider for 007–and who is not listed in the article–would be Leo Suter.

Sure. But even the youngest former Bond looked older than these.
Definitely. Amazon will go for that youth market and throw it to us oldies, thinking „be grateful that you still get some Bond“, like a prime deal of stuff nobody needs but considers oh so cheap.

I am aware that this is the final time im not going to be going “why all these kids” at Bond cast suggestions but thats only because Lowden is EXACTLY the same age as me.

From that specific list I’d select Turner or Francis. I can’t see Gibson getting the role as the films and games are seperate entities.

The first official still of Craig blew me away. If I had any doubts they were washed away right then and there. I could see what the screen testers did. The film itself was just confirmation.
He’s shot way up in my estimations - younger but old enough to have a believable edge. I could see him doing a good job.

Lowden is my favourite of that bunch, too.
He has that wonderful combination of drama and comedy in his repertoire, he can be tough yet vulnerable.
Being in „Slow Horses“ should help his awareness: like Moore and Brosnan at their time, semi-famous but not a superstar yet.
And he really can do anything, even being hilariously unsympathetic like in „Ella McCay“ (totally underrated film, by the way).

Moore and Brosnan is what made me think Lowden might still have a chance. Both became front runners because of Bond adjacent roles and both did click with the general audience.

Have read all the books but I don’t have streaming services other than the BBC iPlayer. I’d say that’s because there are better things to do and life to live, but it’s because I’m cheap.
