It looks like a picture disc! :yum:

I just ordered it at my favorite home town recordshop, together with two RSD Rolling Stones releases, ofcourse!

I have listened to the new LALD cd’s and the sound is realy great! Very bright and -maybe I imagined things- I thought I was hearing things which I didn’t hear before.

The Octopussy score is next!

I got mine this weekend but I haven’t had time to hear them. Plan to listen to them over the next 2-3 days. :grinning:

My package came today! And just from testing a few minutes here and there…

Man, the sound is incredible. And the complete Octopussy score is sublime.

If anybody enjoys these scores, hurry and get these La-La Land Records releases (only 5000 units per release were made, and they are selling fast).

Now listening to the new Octopussy cd’s and again this sounds so brigtht, I get the feeling that it never sounded as good as on this release.
And all those extra tracks!
Even all source material is on this release, including the snake charmer whistles music and the exotic music just before Octopussy and her ladies enter Khan’s palace.

Must have!

It’s a great soundtrack. The Palace Fight contains some of the most urgent, exciting renditions of the Bond theme in the series. Bond sliding down the stairs, and particularly when he’s chasing after Khan by horse.

La-La-Land Records continue with their James Bond soundtrack releases - today, it´s this one, remastered and in film sequence:

But no new cues?

Well, the mono mix with the different vocals.

And the main reason to buy this is the remastered sound.

The last one was also remastered, so that’s not much they offer.

It is a new remaster by LLL, not the one offered in 2003 by EMI.

In other words: high quality.

Yes I know, but still it’s a little let down, I hoped for at least some bonus stuff and I realy hoped for complete scores of Moonraker, Spy, Golden Gun etc…

But I will buy it anyway ofcourse.

Edit: Just ordered it, although I was completely satisfied with the 2003 version’s quality, but… LALD never sounded as good as the new one.

It always depends on whether additional elements exist, are found or are even available from the rightsholders.

This one is also sold through the 007 store, and EON has all the power over this.

It seems probable that LLL will continue to release more Bond scores in the future, also during their annual Black Friday high profile releases.

The others from LLL are/were also sold bij the 007 store.
And why not just release the scores which have bonus tracks available in the vault.
Let’s been honest: no one of us hoped for a release like this one.

I did.

But I agree on this: the rightsholders are strangely sitting on the vault material and prohibiting quality labels like LLL to work on and release them.

What are they waiting for?

We couldn’t find any additional score. We looked. We did find the Shirley Bassey takes for the mono single version of the song and that’s been newly edited and mixed for this release.
