Forum Game: This or That?

What will be the next Bond novel:
A third Horowitz novel with unused Fleming material
OR
A new, modern set Bond adventure with a new writer
?

I think they’ll go for a trilogy and have it set in the early sixties so …
Horowitz.
Best bit of innuendo of the 70s
“Named after your father perhaps?”
Or
"I think he’s attempting re entry sir "

"I think he’s attempting re entry sir " Simply because the character saying it doesn’t realise the innuendo.

Bond themed marketing you’re most looking forward to when Bond 25 product placement rolls in

Heineken

Or

Gillette

I think he does realize what he’s saying and that’s the point. The Minister of Defence is angry and Q is prodding him by making a joke.

Anyway, I guess heineken, keep it consistent. In fact, we’ve already seen it.

If a previously thought dead character were to turn out to still be alive in Bond 25, who should it be:
Vesper
OR
Silva
?

Huge credit to Desmond that you could take it either way. He was an actor who truly knew his craft.

Silva. Makes more sense…

Relatively :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Bond 7?

Robert Pattinson

Or

Ben Barnes

I ask as both have been seriously suggested.

Ben Barnes, because Pattinson is already the new Batman and could be that for years (and frankly I don’t see either one of them as Bond).

Who’s the best:

Luciana Paluzzi as Viona Volpe in Thunderball

or

Barbara Carrera as Fatima Blush in Never say never again

Both were good. Paluzzi did more with less in a time that didn’t allow for it.

On a related note…

More progressive Bond girl

Octopussy (a powerful woman with a ridiculous name)

Or

Natalya Fyodorovna Simonova

The first with the “Bond woman” moniker

It was 24 years ago, we’re over it.

Natalya, she never became the damsel in distress.

If Bond were to return to the U.S. in Bond 26 (or 25 that we don’t know about) where should he go:
Austin, Texas
OR
Seattle, Washington
?

By the way, I don’t think Q does get the innuendo, as he is not looking at Bond and Goodhead, he is looking at the progress of the re-entry of the craft they are in (in fact, that’s the joke).

Seattle

Preferred artist for the Bond 25 theme:-

Lady Gaga

or

Michael Buble

I always took it as Q knew exactly what was going on.

Lady Gaga.

After the DB5 and now the V8 Vantage, what is the next classic Bond (movie) car that should make a reappearance:

1969 Aston Martin DBS from OHMSS
OR
1976 Lotus Esprit S1 from TSWLM
?

Surely time for the Lotus…
Top pick for a new M ( should it be Fiennes last one )
Gabriel Byrne
Or
Jeremy Irons
Or
Adrian Dunbar
Or
Helen Mcrory

(I agree about the Lotus, my favorite car.)

Ok, about M:

Irons is a too obvious and easy choice, Byrne is interesting, but Dunbar, an actor that I had completely forgotten, is for me the most odd and therefore more interesting choice!

So Dunbar it is!

What Bondmovie from the past would work the best with today’s audience?

Dr. No

or

Moonraker

Moonraker. Dr. No would get savaged today for having a white, Canadian actor playing an Asian villain, one that was also black in the novel.

Going on the belief that Lashana Lynch is playing a new 007, will her character be:
a one off for Bond 25’s story
OR
take over the 007 mantle for the forseeable future
?

Only a one off for Bond 25 please…

Which will we get first… Our first look at Rami Malek in character OR the title for Bond 25?

Hmm, might be the same time actually. But I think we’ll get our first look at Rami Malek in character first, whether official or leaked.

Which unused Fleming location should appear on screen either in Bond 25 or a later film:
Acme Mud and Sulphur
OR
Dreamy Pines Motor Court
?

Dreamy Pines Motor Court

In Bond 25, if Lashana is playing 007, does she:-

  • get romantically involved with Bond, leaving Daniel to utter the line “Well let’s see what gadgets you have, 007”

or

  • turn Bond down, leaving Daniel to utter the line “So that’s how that feels…”

A The Dark Knight Trilogy reference?

The latter, as it speaks to both the Craig era and PWB’s ethos as a writer.

Bond 7?

Continue as Craig’s Bond

Or

Be his own Bond

Be his own, probably return to the original timeline. Craig’s Bond doesn’t seem like his story could logically continue after Craig’s run ends.

Weaker Fleming novel:
Diamonds are Forever
OR
The Man with the Golden Gun
?

TMWTGG - easily, it feels unfinished in a way DAF doesn’t

(I agree in regards to the Craig arc, btw, it’s best it remains his, Bond 7 being completely his own self)

On a related note should;

Bond embrace the continuation novels

Or

Bond be Fleming’s beast alone

Embrace the other novels, why not? There is some good stuff in there.

Will Bond 26 be made:-

  • in 2024?

or

  • in 10 years’ time?
