Roger Moore’s rock climbing and falling in For Your Eyes Only

Better fight

Bond vs. Necros in The Living Daylights

or

Bond vs. Franz Sanchez in Licence To Kill

?

Bond vs. Necros in The Living Daylights

More effective 1970s Bond villain:

Michael Lonsdale’s Sir Hugo Drax from Moonraker

or

Charles Gray’s Ernst Stavro Blofeld from Diamonds Are Forever?

Definitely Michael Lonsdale as Drax in Moonraker…

More useful gadget in a Bond film:

The credit card/door key in The World Is Not Enough

or

The baby rocket cigarette in You Only Live Twice?

Useful? The credit card/door key in The World Is Not Enough
Better? The baby rocket cigarette in You Only Live Twice

Better fight

Bond vs. Alec Trevelyan in GoldenEye

or

Bond vs. Carver’s CMGN thugs in the music room in Tomorrow Never Dies

?

Bond vs. Carver’s CMGN thugs in the music room in Tomorrow Never Dies

Better novelette: Octopussy or The Living Daylights?

The Living Daylights.

Worst case of “gadget cheating” to miraculously solve a problem:

Ninja outfit and large suction cups stashed somehow (?) under a “fisherman” outfit and coincidentally exactly what’s needed to sneak into a hideout no one knew would be made of metal, or involve heights (YOLT).

Or…

A magnetic watch that’s useless against rope, but happily features a “buzzsaw” mode no one ever mentions until Bond needs it? (LALD)

You Only Live Twice’s ninja outfit and suction cups. At least we knew the watch was a gadget even if we didn’t know it had a saw.

Better fight

Bond vs. Steven Obanno in Casino Royale

or

Bond vs. Edmund Slate in Quantum Of Solace

?

Bond vs. Obanno in Casino Royale.

Tania Mallet

or

Karin Dor?

I’m actually a bit more partial to Karin Dor myself.

Double up of Bond villain features…Which would be more cool?

Having Jaws’ metal teeth AND Tee Hee’s metal hook-arm?

                  OR

Having Zao’s diamond studded face AND Silva’s melted jawbone due to the cyanide?

I’ll take Jaws’ teeth and Tee-Hee’s mechanical arm.

Better fight

Bond vs. Donald “Red” Grant in From Russia With Love

or

Bond vs. Che-Che in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

?

Oh definitely Bond vs Grant in From Russia With Love.

Your favorite stuntman.

Martin Grace, Dickie Greydon, Gary Powell, Ben Cooke OR Bob Simmons?

I’ll pick the man who started it all and the first person to ever appear onscreen in any Bond film: Bob Simmons.

John Barry’s music score for Thunderball

or

John Barry’s music score for Octopussy?

Thunderball

Better fight:

Bond vs. Max Zorin in A View To A Kill

or

Bond vs. Necros in The Living Daylights

?

Bond vs. Necros in The Living Daylights

Better car chase:

Bond in his Sunbeam Alpine convertible vs. 3 Blind Mice in the LaSalle Funeral Coach in Doctor No

or

Bond and Kara in his Aston Martin V8 escaping from the Czechoslovak police and military in The Living Daylights?

I’ll go with Bond and Kara in the Aston Martin V8, escaping from the Czech police and army in The Living Daylights.

Best “tunnel sequence” in a Bond film:

Bond, crawling through the tunnels of Crab Key as he makes his escape in Dr. No, Bond and Christmas Jones attempting to defuse the nuclear bomb at high speed in TWINE, OR Bond, chasing after Silva in the London Underground in Skyfall?

Tough call with the latter two but I guess I will go with Bond chasing Silva in the London Underground as a little more action happens there.

Better fight:

Bond vs. Carver’s CMGN thugs in the music room in Tomorrow Never Dies

or

Bond vs. Steven Obanno in Casino Royale

?

Definitely Bond vs. Obanno in CR

Teri Hatcher

or

Jill St. John?

Oof. Popular or not, I’m going with Jill St. John… Although, Teri and Pierce’s chemistry in TND is undeniable!

You’re a filmmaker and you have to fit one of these scenes in the next Bond film, do you choose:

Bond dressed as a clown

Or

Blofeld dressed as a woman

A clown.

Oof. Popular or not, I’m going with Jill St. John… Although, Teri and Pierce’s chemistry in TND is undeniable![/quote]

Indeed. Jill and Teri remind me of each other. The Bond/Paris dialogue at Carver’s party reminds me of the “Peter Franks” meets blond/brunette/redhead Tiffany in her Amsterdam apartment scene. When they cast Teri as Mrs. Carver in TND, I wish they had made her character Tiffany Case Carver instead of a former Bond girlfriend who we’d never seen before.

Next choice:

Lana Wood

or

Denise Richards?

Lana Wood… Plenty O’Toole is a much more fun, “naughty” name than Christmas Jones and while both characters are equally annoying, Plenty was out of the movie much faster than Dr. Jones.

Severine from Skyfall OR Lucia Sciarra in SPECTRE?
