Forum Game: This or That?

I truly hope the former.

Maybe too much to wish for, but…

At the end crawl of credits:

"The End of No Time To Die, but James Bond will return in…

Or

“James Bond Will Return”

While I would like a “James Bond will return in…” with a continuation title, I think the days of knowing the next film have long passed us by. So it will be “James Bond will return.”

Who would you choose to be the next Bond villain:

Jeremy Irons

or

Malcolm McDowell

?

Hmm… wow either could be great, but realistically I would think that they might be a bit too old for the next actor who will be 007. I’d give the slight edge vote to Jeremy Irons.

Now that it’s been reported that Ben Whishaw is done playing Q, who would be a good choice as the next Q for the new 007?

Dominic Monaghan OR Daniel Radcliffe?

Dominic Monaghan has the look

Bond 26 will be released…

  • before 2025

or

  • after 2025

???

After 2025.

Tatiana Romanova

or

Anya Amasova?

Anya, even though I’m also a Tatiana :stuck_out_tongue: (Not named after her … unfortunately)

TSWLM is one of my favorite Bond films. So it was hardly a fair comparison. Tatiana was a true damsel in distress. Anya, even though she was rescued by James as well, contributed more than Tatiana did.

3rd Dalton

or

5th Brosnan?

3rd Dalton. If you count the game Everything Or Nothing, we did get a 5th Brosnan. (6th if you include Nightfire, but that one only had his face, not his voice).

Speaking of Bond games, should they ever return, should we get:
A period game with a former Bond actor, like From Russia with Love
OR
A contemporary game with the current Bond actor
?

Definitely a contemporary game with the current Bond actor.

With Daniel Craig leaving and Ben Whishaw departing the role of Q as well, should the roles of Moneypenny and M be:

Recast for the new Bond actor in Bond 26 OR No, keep Ralph Fiennes and Naomi Harris to bridge the gap between Bond actors as Lois Maxwell and Bernard Lee / Robert Brown / Judi Dench did?

Whishaw wasn’t purposefully leaving, he just is aware that his contract, the same as Craig, Fiennes, Harris and Kinnear, runs out with this film, so doesn’t expect to be doing another. I would agree with that, as having to renegotiate contracts with your entire cast of acclaimed actors sounds virtually impossible. With that in mind;

a whole new cast is the way to go

So, with that observation, partnered with the very self contained (The Dark Knight Trilogy inspired) nature of Craig’s run should Bond 7;

continue as if it’s following from Die Another Day, like Snyders DCEU Batman tried in relation to the Burton/Schumacher films.

Or

Be it’s own thing, Ignore everything that came before, but without going full reboot of explaining his origins, like Matt Reeves “The Batman” seems to be doing.

Snyder’s Batman isn’t the same Batman as Burton/Schumacher is it? Meh, doesn’t much matter I guess. I think I’d prefer it continue from Die Another Day if the Craig-verse is self-contained. Otherwise, I’d rather it just continue from No Time To Die. No more reboots. In the last 15 years, we’ve had 3 Batman continuities, 3 Spidermen (4 including Into the Spiderverse), 3 Jokers, 3 Green Goblins, 2 Fantastic Four series (with a likely 3rd coming), a rebooted then debooted Ghostbusters, a breakfast Brexit, and the start of the Trump dynasty. No more starting over. Let’s go forward, not back.

Who should direct Bond 26:
Martin Campbell who has done a great job handling new Bond actors
OR
Cary Fukunaga who seems to be doing very with NTTD
OR
New blood with a new vision
?

Yeah, depressingly Justice League defines it as that, with specific Batman Returns references. Think it was a cynically half hearted way of trying to claim they’ve always had a DCEU

That just makes Batman v Superman that much worse.

I love Martin Campbell and wished he could have done more than two films, but he’ll be nearly 80 when Bond 26 comes out, so I will go with Cary Fukanaga. No Time To Die looks really promising–like a potential Bond-buster. :grinning:

Who would you rather have as the villain for Bond 26:

Idris Elba

or

Gary Oldman

?

Idris Elba - then people will shut up.

Warts and all, which was better:
TMWTGG the novel,
or
TMWTGG the film
?

I do feel that is really relative to your love of Christopher Lee

So;

The film version.

Which film version of Blofeld is closest to the novels - keep in mind I’m not asking for favourite, I’m asking about source loyalty OF THE PERFORMANCE ;

Anthony Dawson/Eric Pohlmann

Donald Pleasence

Telly Savalas

Charles Gray

John Hollis/Robert Rietti

Max Von Sydow

Or

Christoph Waltz

I emphasise of the performance as only 1 of them even says a single word written by Fleming

C3P0 played Blofeld?

“The odds of Mr. Bond successfully escaping Red Grant are approximately three million ninety-seven thousand to one!”

I’m sure you meant Dawson, so I’ll shut up now - after I nominate Telly Savalas.

Not sure how close to the books he was, but I always wished there were more of Max as Blofeld.

Seeing as no one has moved the game forward, I’ll go with Telly Savalas.

For a Fleming-timeline adapted version of one of the Craig Bonds (excluding Casino Royale), which would you most want to read adapated for a 1950s-1970s time period:
Quantum of Solace in 1953 just after Casino Royale
OR
Skyfall in 1969 following on from the end of the current Fleming timeline
OR
Spectre in 1962 after Thunderball
OR
No Time To Die in 1975 following a 51 year old Bond long after Fleming’s novels ended (assuming Bond’s birthday in 1924)
?

Spectre in 1962

Preferred locations for Bond 26…

  • the whole movie in Brazil

or

  • combination of Canada, Australia and New Zealand

??

Combination of Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Better 1980s Bond ally:

Chuck Lee(AVTAK)

or

John Terry’s Felix Leiter(TLD)?
