From the house of mouse…
That trailer serves to provide some more connective tissue to the previous movies than earlier trailers did. Yet, it also intrigues me less as a result.
It also looks like a bit of a RETCON. According to the first film, the Kingsmen were created after WWI. The trailer, however, looks like that it existed during the war.
Fiennes’ head still doesn’t really agree with the bowler hat…
Well, Rasputin was killed in 1916. From the trailer it looks as if at least part of the plot happens during the war - though it just might be that the entire Kingsmen operation is only starting out with this adventure.
Would it make a big difference though? I could imagine the roots of this going back to Napoleon and most viewers probably won’t mind.
I think that’s why I said it was a bit of a RETCON vice an all out one. I interpreted the story Galahad told Gary as the founders pooled their money and resources post-war to ensure another Great War would not happen. That could still occur.
The Kings Man theme (end credits song at most I reckon, going by the “themes” to other Matthew Vaughn movies)
Well, December 22 THE KING’S MAN will have plenty of space in theatres I’m afraid…
Finally saw it on Hulu, not bad. I did notice that Ralph Fiennes followed the Daniel Craig model and became one of the film’s executive producers.
I enjoyed it. Very over-the-top but it definitely kept me watching!!
Yeah I went in expecting this to be a bomb but I had a decent enough time watching it
Isn’t that the definition of Kingsman?
I noticed the dvd for sale in my local Asda ( Walmart UK ) yesterday, but will wait for it to come on sky movies,as I am currently on sick leave money, while I look after my 89 year old mum whose health has declined rapidly lately
It’s happening!
