That man is now 60.

And I‘m getting dizzy just by looking at that photo.

I am about to be 53.

What did I do wrong?

Growing up?

Apparently not as well as he did.

I think that applies to all of us really. Wouldn’t you all agree? That man is inhuman and doesn’t appear to age. Or at least he ages at half speed.

This guy is incredible. Every time I see his movies I feel myself double checking my diet and making sure I get out for a run. I hope I have even a fraction of his vitality when I’m 50, let alone 60.

Nice one Navy!

I’ve long suspected there’s a portrait of TC locked in a vault somewhere.

David Miscavige has it in a safe deposit box.

I figured the vault I mentioned was at the Scientology Center.

Was not expecting that to be so popular.

Kinda glad though, it was my favourite film for quite some time.

A not at all unworthy selection. Albert Lewin is smiling somewhere. He crafted a small, but interesting output, and is the best (maybe only) creator of films focused on the figure of the homme fatale.

As for me, TPODG scared the heck out of me as a kid, but I still ended up gay.

I liked the MI franchise beforehand, but Cruise really upped his game from Ghost Protocol onwards. The Burj Khalifa sequence remains one of my favourites, probably pipping the iconic wire descent from the original. And from there on the standard remained the same.

It’s also remarkable how Cruise turned around his public perception after the Oprah/Katie Holmes/Scientology sagas. That was a rough period. He focused on being a movie star to the point he’s now celebrated with awe. I personally find him an inspiring figure and admire his commitment to practical filmmaking in an age of computer imagery. I took up running largely due to Tom.

In my opinion, it and Collateral are the best Cruise has ever been. Perhaps it’s because I find him more believable as a cold blooded narcissist.

Given I’d put Tropic Thunder in with that, you’re probably right.
