I don’t think so. Donner did direct Brando and Hackman, and I might add: very well.
They all care about money first and foremost, honey.
And I do, too.
Keep the plot, change the name and set it one minute in the future…works with Bond, so…
Word is Brainiac will finally get the big screen treatment. To that I say let’s hope so.
Tonally I’m hoping the film resembles Superman: The Animated Series, which I consider to be the best incarnation of the mythos.
We couldn’t have a sequel to the last one, which would allow Alicia Vikander to come back (she was awesome in the role) ,so that we could have this? An Amazon Prime series from the people who brought us The Marvels. “Sad” is the only word that really comes to mind.
I strongly disagree, her writing was good, and most reviews for both The Marvels and Wandavision agree. Also Reboot Tomb Raider 2 didn’t happen because MGM did what they always do of hire one person, announced them, quietly fire them, then repeat until their ownership lapsed - we’re Bond fans, we know MGM since 2000 has been a lesson of all the things you don’t do.
Lara needs a strong female voice. PWB and Megan McDonnell have shown how to do that well. Judging work before it’s even been written is folly.
The novel is fantastic. But I don’t see how it can be turned into a film without de-aging Pacino and DeNiro.
Isn’t that The Irishman?
I would just assume that they’ll get younger actors to play those characters. Sounds like Driver is up for DeNiro’s part.
Seconded. Highly enjoyable read. It reads like a movie.
Driver would be playing the DeNiro part. Pacino has gone on record as saying he would like Timothee Chalamet to play his part.
This is officially the Maxiverse now…
I am in a good mood, so the reason I am absolutely underwhelmed by this trailer must be something else.
It looks like a rehash of the brilliant Fury Road, only with much more green screen.
Still hoping that Miller has made an interesting film, but I am not confident he has done this anymore.
This has been appearing in my news feed for months, presumably because I Googled Oliver Jackson-Cohen once. Trailer looks decent and early reactions seem positive. Plus it’s an original British action film and those don’t come round very often.
The fans will hate me for saying this but… haven’t we seen enough monsters creating mayhem, teaming up, fighting each other…
