Hopefully they also take a hint from the success of Weapons.
Hopefully the hint isn´t “Oh, we need more mediocre horror dark comedies!”
Clayface has started filming.
A map and a look at our new DCU Gotham City, and Clayface himself.
This is at the top of my must see list.

It seems like Superman and Lex are teaming up. If they use Luthor again as the primary villain…oh my goodness. Superman has some real interesting villains why are we always going back to Luthor. It would be like Batman movies always featuring Joker. At some point we need some new ones to explore different sides of the character. I just hope that Zod isn’t going to be the villain! Or someone made up, or another hero’s villain(s). It’s beyond time for Superman’s villains to get screen time! Also, I just hope that James Gunn has a cowriter this time.
Superhero movies, sequels, an endless cycle of kiddie entertainment killing the American cinema, and everbody knows it and…
It’s Superman?
I‘m in.
Not a film I plan to see, to be honest. I tried reading the book last year and didn’t get on with it. However, I do think it’s notable because it stars rumoured Bond candidate Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, a role once played by Timothy Dalton. I also watched the 1970 film last year, after failing to get through the book, and didn’t enjoy that either.
But on the other hand, Emerald Fennel is an interesting director. I haven’t seen Saltburn, but Promising Young Woman as an excellent film that I have no desire to ever see again.
Agreed. It will be interesting to see her take on this material.
Sounds terrific.
Seeing this one in theaters for sure.
For that?
Oh, well, he always had a sly way to amuse us.
Well, he also did Jaws 4 so… (And I bought a ticket for that..fill in the blanc.. movie).
He’s never seen it, but he has seen the house it bought.

And he missed picking up his first Oscar in person because of filming it.
Michael Caine talks about Jaws 4 in this video starting around 27:25 . In the video he says he did the Swarm because he needed to buy a house but I recall him referencing Jaws in this regard as well.
I suspect it more or less blended into each other. Cain for a time was in huge demand, but probably never quite Hollywood A-list demand (or if so just for a brief period). Money wasn’t scarce for him, but then life was expensive, too. Actors know how fast they can be forgotten, so the most sensible thing they can do is make themselves available while directors still want them. Be picky with the number of naughts on the paycheque, not with what you get it for.
Probably a wise decision.
There is this idea put forth by some critics that a really great actor, director, writer can only take the classiest assignments for a spotless filmography.
This is in complete disregard of reality where only a limited number of ambitious projects is available and timing is everything, apart from personal grievances and preferences on the side of casting agencies, studio people and filmmakers in general.
And if you‘re not the flavour of the month (anymore) you will have to survive on what’s available.
Caine understood this and had no problem with it, and that’s wonderful. He always delivered great performances and forged a distinct persona which made him a star who survived even the lesser films.
I mean, look at his perfect performance in „Hannah and her sisters“ and the absolutely decent one in „Jaws 4“ - if an actor can deliver that kind of ongoing quality, you call that a pro.
