Goldeneye though a tad symbolism heavy was the best title sequence since probably Moonraker imo
Moonraker was probably the last time he came up with any ideas, yeah. Highlights after that include an out of focus massive screen-filling close up of Sheena Easton’s hair and a lady sat in a huge martini glass.
His themes after that:
FYEO: Sheena
Octopussy: I hired a laser!
AVTAK: Blacklight and skiers.
TLD: Erm… girls…?
LTK: Girls… cameras…for some reason…?

AVTAK are not a good watch
It’s a good little sequence. I like how it concludes the PTS, showing the silhouette of Jaws landing on the net and the still of Bond having successfully parachuted. The girls are still there, but the zero gravity leaping against the smoke and blue background really works nicely.

I’m planning a holiday to Italy and Greece in December/January, and have put Matera on the list.
I looked at information about the Mexico PTS for SPECTRE and saw 1,500 extras were used. So 1,200 extras for the Matera sequence means we have something of substantial size.
Any festivals in Matera?
They will have one after BOND 25…

Action-wise that chase was superb - I think it’s my favourite of Craig’s vehicle chases. If something like it could be staged in Matera that would be fabulous…

Absolutely!
QoS’ editing didn’t work for the bike/boat/harbour sequence, nor for the plane/freefall sequence imo.
But the opening car chase was a gripping, gritty, thrill ride that proved there is a place for such an approach in Bond.

Are we going to talk about that story on this thread? When I first saw it I would have considered it a spoiler but it’s being so widely reported I’m not sure it can be considered one anymore. Right now it’s the top story on the IMDb homepage for example. But I know everyone has their own definition of what constitutes a spoiler and I don’t want to be ‘that guy’.
We’ve been keeping it on the spoiler thread just in-case. I think only move something over if EON say it themselves.
