Meanwhile, here in Portugal, the teaser poster is already showing up on as “Soon”…

As the information comes from a Barbara Broccoli interview, I am assuming this is non-spoiler. That said, I just read a little to try and avoid too much information.

Basically the Empire article, isn’t it?

Yes, I believe so. Though I am not sure if that was previously available online.

I think for a short while, due to an accidental twitter link - after all it’s going to be Empire’s major selling point come Thursday.

Rumour is that Dan Romer has left the production and will no longer be scoring NTTD

Rumour from where?

If true, I bet David Arnold gets the job.
Still, I was very much looking forward to hearing the score by Romer. That would be very refreshing.

Arnold might not be the only composer they could turn to.

No, of course not. But I think he’s what Purvis and Wade are: the safest choice. Not necessarily the best (although, personally, I’m a fan of his work on Bond movies).

Also depends upon finding someone who’s conveniently available.

Arnold and Newman will no doubt be the first ports of call. But I imagine they’re talents are in high demand. So if Eon need someone quick it may still be a face fresh to bond.

Who CJF has worked with in past, apart from Romer? A shame as I very much like his scores.

I wonder what this means for any progress made on the title track? How much of a say does the composer have, I wonder!

Arnold hasn’t been working on a lot of projects for a while and I don’t think Newman would take the Gig unless Mendes has a hand in production. He’s been brought in for the last two movies solely because of Mendes

He’s worked with Dario Marianelli (Jane Eyre) and Marcelo Zavros (Sin Nombre) .

I’m not familiar with their work. Zavros is quite a big deal, according to Google.

Arnold had been working on this, https://www.royalalberthall.com/about-the-hall/news/2019/october/exclusive-pictures-david-arnold-and-michael-giacchino-face-off-in-hope-of-settling-the-score/ as well as Good Omens, Little Brexit and a few other live shows. He seems to have moved away from scoring in the last few years, doing mostly live performances, only doing scores for people who he’d worked with for years.

A composer is a hired gun. He has to make everything suit the higher ups.

I can imagine Romer being accepted at first because he and Fukunaga were a team on previous pictures. But after the first layout of his score, probably for the first rough cut, it was decided he would not be a good fit for Bond.

(Danny Boyle is probably saying “I told you so” to Fukunaga, but quitting now is too late, just because a mate would be replaced.)

I´m sure Arnold would jump at the chance. But maybe EON and Fukunaga have already another composer in mind. I could imagine them wishing to go for someone else just to give the film another high profile layer. Therefore I would not be surprised if they had already contacted Hans Zimmer, maybe getting his associate Lorne Balfe to chime in.

Arnold is the cavalry, no doubt. I bet he’s got loads of material in the drawer which he could work into a proper score in no time.

All this could be a reason why we haven’t seen a trailer, yet.
