News on NO TIME TO DIE (no spoilers)

Arnold coming back for Craig’s last would be fitting, provided Romer is actually out. Let’s see what happens.

I would LOVE Lorne Balfe. I thought his score for Mission Impossible: Fallout was great, and I’m looking forward to his score for the BBC’s/HBO’s His Dark Materials this Sunday.

I would go with Michael Giacchino, but I guess he has his hands full with scoring The Batman right now.

THE BATMAN is not even in production right now. Giacchino could easily do the score.

I like him and his work - but I get the feeling he would do too much of a Bond pastiche.

Personally, I would love Arnold to return. My second choice: Alexandre Desplat. Also Roque Banos.

Or Brian Tyler, perhaps? The man has experience in action movies. Not to mention his Children of Dune miniseries soundtrack with its absolutely fabulous main theme - one of the very best I’ve ever heard.

In fact he already has, with The Incredibles. A few scenes were obviously temp-tracked from Goldfinger, and he followed the same musical pattern with his score. With excellent results, IMO. But I agree he’s maybe not the best choice for NTTD.

Arnold is scoring the Dracula series from the Sherlock creators currently

I am not a Brian Tyler-fan at all. And he is not the go-to-guy for most A-list productions, rather the B-movie run-of-the-mill type.

Not surprised, he’s been mates with Mark Gatiss for years.

I believe I said when Romer was announced that I hoped EON had someone in their back pocket. Not to knock him, but this is just too important a film to experiment with what many expected would be a new sound.

We still don’t know for certain he has left. James Bond Radio Facebook page is not exactly an iron clad source. When a rumour sounds like something “fans” (I put that in quotes as I mean angry American men in their moms basement who spend WAY too much time mansplaining on twitter) really want to be true, it’s probably not.

To be fair to JBR, they DO say “be sure to take this with a grain of salt” right in their post…

And if I were a betting man I would say this rumor is or will come true.

Junkie XL said that Hans Zimmer once told him that you’re not a true film composer until you’ve been replaced by the studio. I’m still dubious of the source, but I am aware it’s FAR from unprecedented.

But of course… this is the cursed James Bond production after all!!! Don’t be surprised to see Babs and Mike murdered by killer zombie mummies on release day!:japanese_ogre:

QOS was cursed too. I think they’ll be fine…

Cursed production? Yes, there have been a series of unfortunate events on NTTD and other previous films but I don’t think I’m quite ready to lump the Bond franchise in the same cursed category as the Poltergeist franchise was…lol

Replacing a composer is no sign of trouble this early in post production - it‘s a sign of determination.
