NOT triyng to be that guy but the rumors of PC wokeness infesting Bond are starting to spread. Allegedly, reshoots will be happening after dismal test screenings. It may amount to nothing but something is happenhing behind the scenes and it’s not because of the virus for an eight month delay.
I said it before, there’s something rotten with the state of Bond. Be wary.
Reshoots to get rid of the PC wokeness or to inject more of it into the movie?
Anyway as of Friday the film is done, locked and delivered. To go in to do substantial reshoots and changes would be quite more costly - more so than the hit they’re taking by delaying the release.

Yea I’m calling BS on the reshoots. Fukunaga already said the film is complete.

I think there are legitimate concerns to be had about wokeness insofar as freedom of speech and how it manifests on Twitter, university campuses, etc. But I must say, it’s becoming so tedious when it emerges any time a character of non-white non-male characteristics is introduced into a film franchise. It also doesn’t go unnoticed that many of the people most sensitive to wokeness have traditionally been much less animated by the very injustices that wokeness - however imperfectly - has sought to address. Not everyone, but still - the correlation is pretty apparent, isn’t it? I think writers must have a very difficult job attempting to navigate the current political-cultural landscape and I don’t envy them.
If it was woke I don’t think Phoebe Waller Bridge would’ve touched it with a barge pole. I also doubt there have been any test screenings yet, so my opinion on this is the same as Rog Bond’s opinion of Scaramanga.

Yes. MONTHS ago. That way if anything did need changes they’d have the cast and crew to do it.
The reason is mostly to do with cinemas already being closed indefinitely in some of their biggest markets, with others likely to follow suit. Simple fact is, you need cinemas to be open for buisness when you work in the film buisness. Its November as it’s the first tent pole release month that probably wont be harmed by cinema closures in China and the US I.e THE TWO BIGGEST MARKETS BY QUITE SOME DISTANCE

Do the Bonds test screen? Not sure.
But yes, China’s market is all but completely dead. US to follow perhaps by beginning April. So, there was no way they could release now and hope to even Have a market come November for solely China as by then, all of China will have seen the film through piracy.

If there were any reshoots to do, they might be around the scientist’s weapon.
Perhaps it’s all too close to the coronavirus real story.
Not really sure where else to put this but for those in the US, there’s a fun tv spot going around for a company called Ameritrade. Put a smile on my face and a nice reminder that there’s plenty of fun spy related things out there to keep us busy for these additional months.
