NO TIME TO DIE Spoilers (production pictures & videos)

Like someone would make a by the number edition of a genre just because it’s currently a successful genre…

I really shouldn’t. It wasn’t meant to be.

Looking like the character of “Nomi -007” Lashana Lynch is ready to kick ass! Looks like they are setting her up as a Jinx style character who they can use to lead a new series of films, would be kind of nice for Nomi to continue 007 in to the future, what I would like to see is a reboot taking Bond back to the 50’s/60’s stylised like the recent Man From Uncle movie, another Fleming idea, remember he provided the names of Napoleon Solo and April Dancer, would it be so bad to have a female 007 series? Given that back in the early 60’s Fleming was proposing a female spy character, maybe there was a reason Forever and a Day novel set up the legend that 007 was a code name that was passed down upon the retirement of the previous agent.

Given that Craig isn’t on set for this perhaps 007 (with Madeline insisting she comes along) is on a mission to save Bond from this mysterious island fortress where he is being held by Blofeld or Malek? Would key in with the diving sequence perhaps. Bond sends Madeline to safety in Matera after going to Vespers grave and being attacked, Bond retires because he has had enough emotionally, gets caught up in Felix and 007’s mission because Madeline is in danger, Bond is captured and 007 and Madeline go to get him.

I wonder if they’ll get Waller-Bridge to actually promote the film when it comes out? She’s certainly hot property at the moment, it’d be interesting to see a writer out on the PR trail.

I’m sure she’s being interviewed about her Emmy wins, but will hopefully be asked about Bond.

It must seem mighty attractive to Eon right now to offer PWB her own female action franchise to ride alongside Bond.

Probably missed the boat, though, with PWB having just signed up to amazon. Don’t know if it’s exclusive, but it’ll likely consume her for a while.

With Malek due to finally put his head above the parapet the trailer is surely imminent.

I presume Malek’s appearances are timed to preview the new series of MR ROBOT, but he is sure to get Bond questions. Hopefully he’ll be allowed to promote both, and a teaser can get an airing.

I thought that too - which is just about as exciting as Bond 25 news - but I imagine Eon would prefer to reveal their villain in the trailer rather than risk the Mr Robot interviews drip feeding bond questions that scuppers the big trailer reveal.

So even if this press round is for Mr Robot it may well force Eon’s hand to time the trailer release with it. Then they can piggyback the publicity rather than fear it

They’ve got Rhythm Section though. Do you mean write it?

Well, I think ‘007’ is not a code name but… a code number. Passing it to the next agent after retirement makes sense.
If they want they can continue with ‘007 movies’ with a female 007 (after all, soundtrack-wise there is already a “007” theme), but a ‘Bond movie’ shall feature that guy called James Bond as the main character. James being rather a man’s first name.

I don’t think they would want to confuse things. James Bond is 007. That’s what it says above the title.

The Rhythm Section, perhaps, will try to launch a franchise. Or maybe it’s just meant as a one-off and we’re all being presumptious.

Yeah I’m not expecting a sequel to Rhythm Section; I’d be kind of surprised if Eon wanted to run another series of films at all.

Yep. I am a fan of JAMES Bond, not Jane Bond or any other unrelated agent using a 007 moniker. For one film I have no problem exploring the Lynch angle, but as a franchise? Slim to zero interest from me. That may as well be any other series. I’m here for James Bond, the man that entered the world in 1953 and has been with us ever since.

Marketto was wrong about the whole “ Genome of a woman “ thing, his source on the trailer and the poster dropping may not be accurate. Though I do think before the “Joker” dropping is the farthest they would wait to release it

Sooner or later the trailer will be released, so at least that part of the prediction has a good chance of turning out true. As for his other predictions, we’ll just see. Technically even things that are grounded in fact could still turn out different.

The book is part of a series, and, given this one is not handcuffed to a studio that keeps going bankrupt, they could make a series of it to allow them to build a portfolio outside of Bond.

True enough, the potential is certainly there. I’d be surprised if it happened but it’s certainly possible.

I meant instead of/as well as… The way to attract PWB and make the best of her talents would be to give her freedom to create her own franchise. Besides, however decent TRS trailer appears to be we’ll see if it has legs for a sequel.

A PWB franchise would need to play it fairly straight, since she’s already got Killing Eve for the navel gazing post-spy/assassin genre millennial bait.

Well she hasn’t worked on that since the first series so she hasn’t really. I dunno, Eon have come this far without making another series so it doesn’t feel like their style, but maybe it could be them moving into their third age (Wilson is no spring chicken so it might be something he doesn’t get involved in).

There’s a story in the papers today about them wooing PWB to write the next Bond so who knows? I’m not sure where she’ll find all of this time from!
