NO TIME TO DIE Spoilers (production pictures & videos)

Scouting this late, IMO, can only mean that the script was rewritten so extensively that they really needed to find other locations - or that they had so much bad luck with already set locations that deals fell through and they were forced to go on looking.

Matera was already reported as a location by the local press before the news about rewrites.

True. But still, scouting for new locations because others fell through - that happens. Having a director attend scouting during a time when shooting, apparently, somehow has commenced (or not), is peculiar.

The director would have to be present at filming while others scout for him. Fukunaga is scouting while obviously there is no filming happening at the moment.

Hence, they started to film in Norway, only partly with Fukunaga - second unit stuff, mostly - and then they stopped again, looking for new locations. That is unusual. Especially on such a big budget production which has to keep the crew on their payroll. Mucho dineros.

Skyfall has to relocate the PTS at the 11th hour as a result of rising costs to filming in India (or was it they weren’t granted permits? I can’t fully remember) and switched to Istanbul. It didn’t result in any further delays to the film.

Not be be precious but - that wasn’t the 11th hour, in my recollection. It was changed before principal photography. And I’m not saying BOND 25 will be delayed again. Only that principal photography has been re-scheduled many times.

It may have been earlier than that. Though I don’t really see this as the 11th hour either. If it were September and filming was wrapping and they needed to make a sudden change, then yes it would be, but I don’t see it as an issue right now.

True. They obviously are working towards a common goal and haven’t again pushed the release date.

Just to clarify my comment from above, there is a huge difference between something appearing odd and something being alarming. My comment should have been worded in a question, i.e. Doesn’t it appear odd to be scouting a location that we’ve known about for quite some time right before what we’ve been led to believe is the start date? My intent was to actually spawn some dialogue along the lines of Arbogast777’s comment that perhaps the start date has been planned later all along, versus it being an alarming issue.

Absolutely. It might all have been no problem at all. EON are keeping their cards so close to their vest that clickbait-sites just throw around speculation based on half-truths or no truth at all.

But I guess those postings with Fukunaga indicate that they are loosening their ties and an official announcement will come sooner than later.

An estimated 200, 000 kroner will be spent repairing the mess all the film equipment, vehicles, etc. created during filming.

Thinking about Jamaica and the fact that we may still be in prequel territory. It would be a nice tuck in to finish up exactly where Doctor No starts, eg three blind mice and Strangways. Blofeld escapes or presumed dead. Bring the series full circle.

Just because of Jamaica?

With a time warp that can explain how DC morphs into Sean Connery and the 21st Century becomes the 1960´s again?

Hey, that would be one major surprise weapon the villain of Bond 25 has developed…

I was watching TB on the telly the other night and found myself hoping that Bond 25’s Jamaica shoot isn’t an underwater finale.

Ok ok may be a bit of a stretch. But it does feel like the Craig era has been about putting all the pieces in place: M’s old office, the Aston, Blofelds YOLT scar, SPECTRE, and so on.

An educated guess: while you were fighting against falling asleep

As much as I like this movie, I’d avoid to start watching it too late in the evening. Only yesterday, I was talking to a friend on the phone, and he suddenly said “I feel like watching a Bond movie tonight, which one would you recommend?” My answer was “It’s past 10 PM, so definitely not Thunderball.” (He ended up with MR).

Its the Revenge of the Sith ending! Maddie dies in child birth because reasons and Bond gets put into a robot suit screaming Noooooooooooo! Then the film spends 20 minutes thrusting (sorry had to) everyone into their Dr No starting positions. Bond spends several months in a casino practicing a Scottish accent, Mallory is fired and replaced by a CGI Bernard Lee, all the tech regresses several decades, and Bond/Maddie’s twin children are hidden from Bond and left with some fan service randos (probably kissy Suzuki for all the four Benson fans out there). Perfectly lame ending that ruins the franchise continuity and pleases no one but George Lucas. drops mic

Please tell me this isn’t true.

They claim she flew to Now York to get Craig’s approval, and she was flown in to save the script when Boyle dropped out.

Geographically, that’s unlikely given EON’s production office is in the same city Waller-Bridge resides in, and even if Craig was at his New York home rather than his own London one, telephones and Skype exist. I’ll not get started on Equity rules regarding hiring people and the cost of travel versus those already in your employ (basically, in a massively summarised version, Craig works for them, Waller-Bridge did not, if they ask her, it’s up to EON to pay for Craig to go to her)

Also - Are we to believe she secretly worked on Bond 25 whilst also working on her own series AND writing for Killing Eve, yet since Boyle left in August last year, it’s never even been implied by ANYONE

Or is it more likely Bond 25 and Phoebe Waller-Bridge are thinks being often typed into google searches at the moment so the notoriously garbage Murdoch smut rag made up a story and chucked in a few MeToo mentions so that they get a lot of traffic to their site?

"One plot being considered involves Craig’s ageing Bond retired and now living in Jamaica – the island where 007 author Ian Fleming had his Goldeneye retreat. The 007 number has been taken up by a new agent – a woman – who embarks on a mission which forces Bond to come out of retirement.

Despite Bond’s legendary reputation as a womaniser, the new 007 manages to resist his charms."

Oh. Um. Well.

If true, that really shakes things up. And it would give credence to those rumors:

  • Bond is celebrating a wedding at the end, with his successor looking on (a female 007).
  • Bond is paired with a younger female agent (the new 007)

While I don’t think all of that cannot work I ask myself: why is it necessary? Is this the way to end Craig´s arc? Replacing him with a woman?

The internet will have their field day with this.

The Guardian is blowing the same horn - though they admit neither Eon nor Craig commented this ‘news’.
