Would be a great title, definitely, and also open up more chapter titles to be used, continuing Fleming´s prose as a link to the otherwise newly constructed stories.
Would it really be so weird? Madeleine is a psychiatrist, after all, and her father shares responsibility with Vesper´s fate. Visiting her grave would be something that she might want to, trying to get closure with her past, and Bond would want that too in order to start a new life with Madeleine.
And then shit happens, of course.
Frankly, I would be totally in favor of BOND 25 picking up that storyline and give the Bond/Madeleine arc the OHMSS ending. It would have been a missed chance and weird not to explain what happened to Bond and Madeleine if BOND 25 had just started without it or even just mentioned that Bond had dropped Madeleine, after making that decision at the end of SPECTRE so big (walking away from M and Blofeld, figuratively and literally crossing a bridge to a woman who said that she cannot be with him if he continues with his previous life).

Plus, of course, the SPECTRE script was due to finish with the line “we have all the time in the world”, but they dropped it late on. I wonder if they’ll get it into the PTS somewhere. Still unsure whether I’d have liked them to use it or not. When I first read the leaked script, I thought it was great, but I’ve come to like what they actually ended up with: Bond just looking at Madeleine, then driving away down Whitehall.

If it isn’t Vesper, and this is following on from SPECTRE, then the only other alternate that makes sense is Lucia Sciarra didn’t contact Felix or he didn’t make it to her in time, and Bond visits her grave/funeral.
If Magnussen is going to play a CIA agent, he may be involved in her death.
It also seemed natural to me that if they were going to follow up on something from SPECTRE, it would be Lucia and Felix. An almost throw away line yes, but still has more substance to it than the complete and utter lack of any and everything between Bond and Swann. Their “relationship” is too forced and lacks any chemistry, unless Swann actually is daddies little girl and has ulterior motives.
I’m definately up for that too. I’ve been mooting an OHMSS PTS for Bond 25 in these forums since the moment the end credits of SP rolled.
Would also make sense of them using the OHMSS theme in the SP trailer, suggesting this may have always been the plan.
That plan was perhaps put on the back burner in their flirtation with Boyle. But I believe he would’ve started Bond 25 the same way; dispatching the loose end that is Maddy.
The fan in me wanted that line, but now I’m glad they didn’t go with it. It can be argued the statement belongs to the Bond brand as a whole considering it originated in a Fleming book. But nonetheless, it does so strongly belong to Lazenby and OHMSS. SPECTRE or Bond 25 can be influenced by that novel/film, but they are seperate entities standing on their own two feet. “We have all the time in the world” instantly snaps you back to 1969 and comes off as another Easter egg.
It would have felt a bit glib
I kind of thought, had they used the Boyle script, that Madeleine may have just disappeared with no explanation as every other Bond girl ever. From the small tidbits we got, his script seemed largely unconnected to the Spectre storyline and thus Maddy would’ve had no place in it.
To me, there are all kind of ways to play the OHMSS scenario without mirroring the 1969 version, including using her profession as a tool versus a bullet at the hands of Blofeld.
I’d actually like to see Madeleine survive a good portion of the film and show us a better relationship between her and Bond and better character development for her. Watching Spectre, her sudden flip from hating Bond and detesting everything in the first train scene, to being very friendly and jumping into bed with him, in the next scene with no discernible event to change anything, is very jarring.
That was exactly where I was leaning in this guess/scenario. Perhaps instead of being killed in the PTS she is kidnapped, and Bond is forced to use his friends (both MI6 & CIA) to help find and rescue her. Just speculating.
But not unpresidented in life and art. We can all be fickle!
If Maddy lives and they illustrate they’re relationship it’d be trending on the toes of too many predecessors. Unless of course there’s no tension and they got along just great. But no tension, no drama. Plus that’s a lot of screen time given to something that’s not very Bond.
If she’s kidnapped it’s again retreading; this time it’s own narrative, since she’s already been kidnapped by Blofeld in SP.
I really don’t see her making it past the PTS.

These days, a solid British American film production has flown into Norway. To record scenes for the new James Bond movie, they have blocked an area in Nordmarka, actually meant to imagine Austria. For this effort, they receive 47 million from the Norwegian cultural budget.
Austria? Nothing about the cabin looks even remotely Austrian.
What exactly makes a house look “Austrian”? This house could be anywhere in or north of the Alps.

Agreed. Blofeld’s look at Madeleine on the bridge said it all. If he’s going to be giving orders from jail I think they’re going to equal murder. No more games.

With the director now visiting locations it can be safely assumed that they are (back) in pre-production.
The delay is still no problem with a release date this time next year. But it certainly would have been helpful to have started earlier with more time for post. It wasn’t supposed to be, I guess.

I seem to remember a story back before Skyfall production began that Eon did some creative moves/twisting to get Mendes on board before the official money for preproduction and production became available from MGM/Sony. I mention this only because an 11th hour scouting trip does seem odd if (in fact) they are starting later this week or next. Is this typical? I would think they would be doing rehearsals leading up to start, not scouting locations.
