NO TIME TO DIE Spoilers (production pictures & videos)

Or what has been done more recently is the longer pieces eg trailers have been dropping in advance of the big game to give them space, that’s what Universal has done for Hobbs and Shaw and will.be doing again for Fast and Furious 9.

There’s definitely something about a trailer debut during the game itself though.

Welcome aboard, Hans. I’m excited about this. Imagine his version of the Bond theme. I hope he goes all out epic and gives us some of his trademark atmospheric cues. I’ll have to give his Mission: Impossible 2 score another listen soon.

Not sure I’d go for that. John Woo and Tom Cruise don’t strike me as silent partners…

Something like ‘Dream Is Collapsing’ and ‘Old Souls’ but altered enough to be James Bondified!

Great news! I suspect this was always there plan A, after granting a CJF caveat that they give Romer a shot.

It’s also another small step closer to Nolan.

Do you have a link for that? Thanks.

That struck me. We’re approaching a point where the only Nolan regulars not to have worked on a Bond movie are his immediate family…

The writing does seem to be on the wall for Nolan to intro Bond 7.

I wonder if they’d consider Jonathon to write/co-write (assuming he has time between Westworld seasons)?

Perhaps they’d do Chris the same favour they did CJF/Romer.

They let Mendes and Boyle add their own writers, I don’t see them being against the acclaimed writer of Person Of Interest and Westworld.

Welcome aboard, Mr. Zimmer. I’m excited to hear what his music score stable of composers can produce. I’m very curious to see if the assembling of so many Nolan production team members really does foretell anything at all.

In fairness, most were Bond crew before working for Nolan, actually being sought out because they’re Bond veterans. Zimmer just puts the Nolan-first up to 4 I think.

Yes, great point!

I guess I’m in the minority of people you aren’t super excited for this. Outside of his Batman Begins/Dark Knight scores, Zimmer hasn’t really impressed me. We’ll get a lot of moody one note blaring, but not much more that is memorable. (At least IMO, but I’ll reserve judgement until I actually hear it)

His Sherlock Holmes score is one of my favorites – it’s inventive, atmospheric, and energetic. Not the stereotype of a Zimmer score at all.

Personally, I have for years been wishing for a Zimmer soundtrack.

But, prior to his being assigned to Skyfall and SPECTRE, I also liked Thomas Newman in other films and while his scores weer perfectly competent, there was nothing memorable in the way he did for American Beauty, Erin Brokovich and Six Feet Under. So, who knows?

I want to go back to this because it’s such a great post. You really the took time to consider all that and break it down for us - particularly the tree and mask details. The still of Rambo Bond with the huge gun looks like it does have a grenade launcher type attachment underneath. Fans of Goldeneye 64 may very well get a live action recreation of the Jungle level.

Thanks for the kind words

I believe he fires the grenade launcher in that very brief moment. I’m hoping it’s at a 21st century interpretation of crab key’s dragon. I’m also thinking perhaps the jungle surrounding the lair, DN’s assault course and the garden of death could all be very easily amalgamated.

I’m REALLY looking forward to what Hans Zimmer will bring for Bond AND Top Gun: Maverick this year. Meanwhile, my top most favorite scores of his are as follows (in no particular order):

Pearl Harbor
Sherlock Holmes films
The Dark Knight Trilogy
The Robert Langdon films
Hidden Figures
Interstellar
Inception
Days of Thunder
Driving Miss Daisy

Inception is brilliant. Should have won the Oscar over The Social Network.

The Rock and Crimson Tide are also excellent, somewhat Bondian with Connery and a 90s spy movie. Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises are two of the better superhero soundtracks, while Man of Steel has some solid themes as well.

I’m starting to look forward to this more than a little known composer’s score.
