I resemble that remark.
âThereâs something about James Bond that always intrigued me in a similar way that Villanelle did,â says Waller-Bridge, referencing Comerâs Killing Eve assassin. âThey live a fantasy! But itâs a life none of us would ever want, if weâre honest. We donât want to go put a bullet in someoneâs head to sleep with people and have martinis. Itâs a kind of fantasy nightmare.â Asked about reports that Bond 25 actress Lashana Lynch will be picking up the 007 mantle, she says, âThe whole thing has potential to birth new iconic characters all the time.â
Sheâs cognizant and somewhat suspicious of the mild frenzy around her contribution: âA lot has been made of me coming on board because Iâm a woman, and thatâs wonderful. But also I canât take credit for the movie that was written. Itâs Caryâs movie.â
Never seen Fleabag or Killing Eve, but Iâm liking how she talks about Bond, both in terms of her sheer lack of ego as well as her analysis of the character/series
Havenât gotten to Killing Eve but Fleabag is damn good.
Incidentally hereâs PWB in a podcast from a few months ago. She only mentions B25 briefly but what she says is actually kind of funny
Iâll give it a try. I know Andrew Scott is in it, and at no point have I ever less than loved his performances, Spectre included (the man holds his own opposite Daniel Craig and Ralph Fiennes! No small task)
This is him reading a speech I actually have framed on my wall; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wM_-O8GREGA
Road closures for Bond 25 filming.
Can anybody who understands Italian share any pertinent details of the interviews? To me, it sounded more like how stunning the vistas are than any insight to the film itself.
Iâm not sure the people interviewed would be able to offer much insight into the film, being just bystanders. Iâm sure theyâre just talking about how cool it is to have a big movie filming in their town, etcâŚ
Makes senseâŚI just thought one or two might possibly be crew members. I guess weâll know soon enough what happens.
Lovely stuff: confirmation thatâs where the car chase happens then!
Looks like a Jaguar F-Type and some Jaguar XJs in that transporter too. As the XJs appear to be doubles for each other I guess these are stunt cars rather than just background ones.
I wonder if this boat sequence is set in the channel, or if itâs doubling?
As I suspected, theyâre using the DB5 for the Matera chase. The Valhalla rumour from that âGenome of a Womanâ information never made any sense to me.
This is going to be bananas.
Iâd have thought that theyâd give the new 007 the Valhalla, while Bond drives the DB5 and later the Vanquish, just to ram home the old school / new school, is Bond still relevant thing that the Mendes films were obsessed with.
Making the point with AMs is broad strokes, but when did a Bond movie ever pass up an opportunity to paint in broad strokes?
I expect Iâll be swiftly proven wrong by a pic of Criag driving the Valhalla that Iâve missed
Though, for arguments sake any such pics could be explained by Bond inheriting the Valhalla when Lynch inevitably bites the dust in some gruesome way at the hands of Malek
i get the feeling they will avoid killing off Lynchâs character in this film - odds are everything will be rebooted somewhat after this one anyway, so it wonât matter if shes alive or not. but I canât see them killing off the black female 007 in this film about the evolution of Bond with all the focus on Bondâs feminist credentials in the press - just smacks of something that would kinda defeat everything theyâre going for as far as I can tell and certainly from whats been said by people like PWB
I wouldnât be surprised if they are aiming to test the waters for spinoff potential. That way they can keep Bond as Bond and give their diversity credentials a huge boost⌠and, of course, make more money in doing so! Depending on how Lynch plays the character, Iâd be there for that.
