The first trailer was put together before the final cut was locked - so this was always planned.
My guess is that what we saw in the first trailer is the original background in Gravina, where the bridge is located, and in the second trailer, it’s footage from Matera, where the bridge is supposed to be in the film.
So Safin’s base is underwater. Those Dr. No vibes are getting hammered home harder than ever. Though he does appear to have the use of his hands…
I was thinking about that. What if he loses his hands just before his demise? Touching upon that element but at the end of his criminal life, not the start?
That’s been my guess. Shades of Bond giving Blofeld his famous scar in SPECTRE.
Quick thought, I could be wrong but I don’t think I am. When Daniel hurt his ankle they hadn’t filmed the Cuba section yet, right? It got pushed to the end of the shoot. If so Ana’s line “You’re late” has a fun double meaning.
The Cuba content was Craig’s last filmed scenes as Bond, decked out in the tuxedo.
If that’s Hans Zimmer’s score we’re hearing, I’m intrigued by it.
Hmmm, looking at the international trailer where there’s a beauty shoot of the Type 45 destroyer, it’s either H.M.S. Diamond (D34) or H.M.S. Dragon (D35). The hull number is a bit hard to see on my monitor with the glare. If someone can make out the hull number, please let me know.
Fair play to whomever sorted that lot out!
Do we think the DB5 uses any other gadgets other than the machine guns and smoke screen?
The only other thing I could see in this context are the forward battering rams, which have never been used before.
This is fun.
If you watch the trailer closely you can see it dropping mini mines in Matera.
I think it’s also supposed to have a drone fly out of the roof.
Yes, the mines are mentioned in the Omega Lifetime magazine.
Thanks for the responses.
First I’ve heard this. That would be nifty. I also forgot there’s going to be a LED number plate as a modern update of the original gadget as seen in Goldfinger.
Updated version of the trailer playing in cinemas with F9 - new MGM logo and October release date
Here in the UK (at ODEON anyway), a slightly edited version of the Super Bowl spot is playing also (saw it myself yesterday) - new MGM logo, swapping the tagline to THE MISSION THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING BEGINS, some footage from the later trailers but nothing brand new.
I have to believe that, once they really start ramping up the marketing campaign as we get closer to the release date, the “You’re late” line will be front and center.
Along with “C’mon Bond, where are you?”
A couple of new angles, the vertical shot facing the pavement as the infiltrators descend the building and also, the wide shot of Matera with the Gravina aqueduct inserted to the left.
