Meat Loaf…

Another icon gone…and a missed opportunity not having a 70s Bond theme from him and Jim Steinman
I saw meatloaf play live at Leeds castle, near Maidstone, back in 2005. It was a very rainy and windy night, but he was absolutely brilliant!
I used to get called meatloaf a lot around the time, due to my long hair and the fact I was big in those days!
Sad news, he was a great performer.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Here in Australia, he’s well known for the often mocked 2011 AFL grand final performance. Which is in no way representative of his career as a whole. RIP, Meat. A great entertainer with a fair share of iconic songs. You will be missed.
I’m sorry for his loss.
Dreadful dreadful loss.
Thoughts with the family.

Absolutely gut wrenching
Legendary Martial Artist and villainous henchman OHara’ in Enter the Dragon, Bob Wall passed away yesterday. A great exponent of Kyokushin Budokai and a lovely man to boot.

What an actor she was
Sad to hear the great British comedy writer Barry Cryer died, aged 86.
One of the best things about him was that he was always supporting new, young comedians right up into his 80’s.
He recently said that his stair lift at home was so fast that he didn’t have time to forget what he went upstairs for!
Cryer really was a giant. I don’t think many people realised the sheer extent of his career and his contribution to the world of comedy. He was also one of those figures who’d frequently pop up on the news to deliver generous and insightful tributes following someone else’s death. He became so known for it, in my eyes, that I feel he should have recorded his own piece-to-camera
(Ditto the late Michael Winner)
A legend has gone, and so brutally. R.I.P. And thank you for all the great moments to rejoice in the sun.
Truly a man who made fantastic dreams come true on the silver screen. His images were the fantasies of a generation.

I grew up a fanatic of all things special effects-related and for years VFX were the main draw for me in movies, whether space-based, monster movies, whatever. I enjoyed reading behind the scenes articles and books and could usually figure out on my own how an effect was achieved. Trumbull’s FX were the first time ever that I couldn’t see through an effect; everything looked real, nothing looked fake. There was a reality to his creations that transcended all that had come before him. A true giant and a legend.
Terribly sad news.
I’ve long been a fan of his films, especially Ghostbusters, which, along with the sequel and animated series it spawned, was a major part of my childhood. Thanks for the years of great entertainment and joy you brought to myself as well as millions of others. RIP.
Oh man…This is too bad. He left us some great films. RIP.
What a sudden and terrible loss. Thank you, Mr. Reitman, for creating so many moments of genuine fun.
