Indeed, let’s all take a moment and raise a glass to the man that started our collective madness.

RIP Her Majesty The Queen

It really is the end of an era. The Queen has been a constant throughout the generations and I always respected her as a historical figure who saw so much in her time. To put things into perspective, Casino Royale was published two months before Queen Elizabeth II’s June 2, 1953 coronation.

That means that every incarnation of Bond, whether on film or in print, has served her alone as his Majesty. That’s wild!

The next Bond then will have to save King and Country.

The rest of the world, too, please.

I’ve been thinking - why not embrace the change in world circumstances after the constant presence of Queen Elizabeth II during the entire period of James Bond’s existence and call Bond 26 something along the lines of For King and Country? It’s a fresh start for both Great Britain as well as the fictional character. Bond is a patriot. Such titles aren’t alien, case in point On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
