This is dreadful news, Sutherland made many great roles his own without fear or hesitation, amongst them genre classics DON’T LOOK NOW, the INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS remake, FELLINI’S CASANOVA and Bertolucci’s 1900. He was an extremely versatile, eclectic actor. You can watch any number of his films and never get the idea it’s the same guy pulling a type from his repertory.
