Oh dear, very sorry to hear it - but not entirely unexpected, given his history of various ailments and complications. At least he got to say farewell to his audience.

Very sad to hear that, another true icon of Rock forever gone…R.I.P. " The Prince of fu..ing Darkness "
Such sad news. He was a fabulous musician … and by all accounts, a wonderful human being.
From high school band on, Chuck Mangione was part of the soundtrack of my youth. I first learned of him through friends who were jazz musicians. Then I heard a lot more of his music once I started marching in a Canadian drum corps. A California corps, the Blue Devils, made their mark performing a jazz repertoire and featured two of his pieces (“Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor” and “Chase the Clouds Away”) in 1976. The arrangements were stunning, and the Blue Devils won their first national title that year. Mangione’s music became a drum corps and marching band staple for years to come.
Already a well-respected musician in jazz circles, Mangione achieved international pop fame for “Feels So Good” … which underwent a remarkable editing process to shorten the original 9:43 album cut into a 3:31 single. His fluid playing on flugelhorn made it sound so simple. But that’s what the best musicians do. They take what is complex or challenging and make it seem easy.
RIP, Chuck Mangione.
Macho Man Randy Savage cut a promo on Hulk Hogan in 1989 that might be the greatest thing to ever come out of professional wrestling. The heat could melt your screen:
Great times, watched this on Saterday evening on Sky Channel in the eighties.
I just watched Hogan vs Savage, Hogan vs André the Giant and Hogan vs King Kong Bundy.
Great stuff, it’s so fake, but so much fun, seeing Hogan completely beat up everytime and then he becomes mad and doesn’t feel pain anymore and is unbeatable. Hahaha! ![]()
Also the two commentators are a lot of fun, Jesse -the Body- Ventura is always anti-Hogan and Gorilla Monsoon is pro Hogan and yelling about him: “This is the greatest sportsman alive!” Hahaha! ![]()
Sometimes it’s a shame that one can only give on Like per post ![]()

She was talented and beautiful. Also, WKRP is one of the most underrated shows ever.

James Lovell died at 97…
R. I. P.
A life well lived. Apollo 13 remains one of my favourite movies.
What a remarkable life and a fantastic guy; key player in two of the most remarkable sagas in Nasa history and a wonderful ambassador for the space program. 97 years is a phenomenal run, but it’s still sad to see him go.
“People often say, ‘I hope to go to heaven when I die.’ In reality, if you think about it, you go to heaven when you’re born.” - Lovell on the cosmic miracle of the big blue marble, Earth.
A good article with comments from Tom Hanks and Ron Howard on the passing of Jim Lovell.
I met CAPT Lovell in '05 at Kennedy Space Center where he signed a copy of his book, Lost Moon. Rest in peace, sir. We have the watch…
Greg Iles…
R.I.P.
Oh man, back in very early 90s I read Spandau Phoenix by Greg Iles, and found it to be an exceptional doorstopper of an espionage thriller. Best of all, the climax of the book is an outright homage to the Bond films.
A Giant.
