Another legend gone
Lonesome Dove it is for tonight…
One of the greatest filmmakers of all time. He expanded the language of cinema.
And his films at one time were supported by and shown on both network television and public television.
Words escape me, 53…

A very sad day, Eric Dane being much too young…and Tom Noonan who elevated the portrayal of a serial killer on a whole other level

Manhunter it is for tonight…
William Petersen was good, but the performances by Tom Noonan and Brian Cox are what set that film apart. IMO, Manhunter was vastly better than the Red Dragon version that came out later.
Duvall being that good, I had to re-watch Geronimo and Open Range too…
Based on the Danish format Det Sidste Ord, Famous Last Words has the potential to become a jewel in Netflix’s crown. It will never get gigantic ratings. People are unlikely to absent-mindedly have it on in the background while they scroll through TikTok on their phones. It is an idea that demands your full attention, and quite honestly it needs a bit of a run-up. There’s something unmistakably confronting about watching people reflect on their lives in the context of their imminent death. It won’t be for everyone.

I have to look him up, never heard of Mr. Rogers if I am honest, is that someone typically American?
Yes, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was a children’s show that ran on PBS in the United States for 33 years. Mister Rogers espoused kindness and empathy. As MaxZorin notes, we could do with more of that these days.
And he always began his show singing about it being “a beautiful day in this neighborhood” and asking the viewer: “Won’t you be my neighbor?”

Mister Rogers espoused kindness and empathy.
Yes, but he has an American accent, so it was an honest mistake.
