Pardon my error. Diamonds are Forever, Moonraker, and 24 other James Bond Movies…
If they dare to touch the pink tie…
Regarding our sidewipes conversation about fans getting more influence I leave this here about the wonderful world of bigotry within fandoms…
It’s already New Year’s Day, so it is also my birthday and this are the presents I will give myself today. You probably can’t guess that I am a James Bond fan, or can you?

These were some crazy years (80 -85) for ski enthusiasts with The Soldier, FYEO, AVTAK and Fire and Ice…
Belated birthday wishes and all the best in ‘26!
Paramount Skydance has yet to comment on the rejection of its latest offer. The company must now decide whether to continue with its hostile bid and take its offer directly to WBD shareholders, or raise its $30 per share bid and respond to the criticisms made by WBD’s board. However, the company has previously said its latest offer is not its “best and final” proposal.
This will keep us guessing a bit longer. Most observers seem to agree it’s unlikely Paramount can come up with any offer Netflix isn’t prepared to top out of its coffers. If so, it probably ends up becoming a regulatory matter. And while the usual suspects already went vocally against the Netflix takeover there’s no saying whether this will indeed provide enough material for a lawsuit - or whether the Paramount offer wouldn’t lead to a similarly critical market situation vulnerable to antitrust proceedings.
As long as not every single US judge is toeing the preferred line there’s really no saying how this bidding war and its possible assessment by authorities is going to end. Expect this to keep in the headlines for some time.
One thing is clear: any sale will diminish the production landscape.
I think Netflix is the lesser evil since the new Paramount owners are closely aligned with you know who.
Just so. Here’s why both options for this takeover are bound to significantly influence media landscape and journalism for the worse:
This week I ordered a 4K boxset of The Wild Geese, unfortunately it is already OOP, but I ordered one from a third party at Amazon. Did anyone here knew about this release and have already seen it?
I ordered it before Christmas, haven’t watched this 4k version yet. But the accompanying book looks very informative, and getting the score on CD along with it is great. (Owned it already, it is a terrific score from Roy Budd.)
