What Bond movie do you feel like watching?

Both. The one sucking up to western power with their own agenda, AND the one who wants power.

But at the time I meant Orlov.

Double feature tonight Goldfinger and The Spy Who Loved Me…:sunglasses:

I wish I had the time to watch 2 Bond films tonight, but I might pop in A View to a Kill if I have time. Been aching for it ever since visiting San Francisco a few weeks ago.

Just finished watching Quantum of Solace

While not my favorite by a ways, over the years this has been my most consistent go-to movie when looking to kill some time, partly because it’s so fast-moving and short. I’m no fan of the editing, but the more it’s watched, the more intelligible it becomes over time.

Diamonds Are Forever, due to the ongoing discussion!

It’s a movie that has bounced wildly around my rankings. I think I have to be in the right mood to enjoy QoS. I still stand firm that a 2009 release date and a change of directors would have done it wonders. As it is, to me, it seems to be a film told by an unreliable narrator (Bond) who is letting his emotions get the better of him. As a result, he is making mistakes and taking his rage out on many caught in the middle (as M points out). But when he finally settles down and realizes he needs to focus, he does and gets Greene and by extension Kabira.

With regards to LTK having the same budget as MR - it 's worth noting that inflation was high during this time period. According to Wikipedia, MR had a budget of $34 Million. According to the Bank of Canada’s inflation calculator (I know it wasn’t made in Canada but the calculator is easy to use), MR’s $34 Million in 1979 would be the equivalent of nearly $64 Million in 1989.

But that is what I meant to say. That it had to be a much bigger budget in 1989 in stead of the budget of 1979 and today it would be even much much more, probably too much to make an expensive movie like Moonraker today.

With modern special effects and pricing, Moonraker would likely cost over $300 million if it were made in 2019. Well that and the fact that Bind movies are getting very expensive…

The Living Daylights. Just reached it’s end, and it feels massively appropriate that John Barry appears on screen at the end of his final score for a series, and a genre, that he contributed so much.

No Time To Die… which is very frustrating

What an incredible soundtrack to go out on. The action and romance cues are among his very best. I’m a fan of the three songs, too.

Bond 27…because if the Craig era had been more stable, we’d likely have 2 more movies (1 in 2010 and 1 in ~2017/2018), making the current film, number 27.

With Global James Bond Day coming up this Saturday (Oct. 5th), I’m definitely in the mood to watch something… I’m thinking a Brosnan film might suit the mood. It’s been a while, but I think I’ll go with Tomorrow Never Dies.

Made my decision on which Double-Oh- Feature I’ll do tonight for James Bond Day. Tomorrow Never Dies and For Your Eyes Only… :sunglasses:

Watching The World Is Not Enough in my Bond run through. It’s not my favourite Bond movie by any stretch when I think of it abstractly, but as the first Bond film i experienced in the cinema, and indeed the film that made me love Bond, it holds a special place in my heart. Just reached M arriving in Azerbaijan, loved every second.

One of the trends of people on here revisiting TWINE is that they are always pleasantly surprised. I think that as it ages, maybe it comes around again in people’s reckoning, as it’s now 20 years old.

Nice thought.

Nah.
