What Bond movie do you feel like watching?

It’s the second Bond film I saw in cinemas and your posts is true for me as well. Lots of fond memories of that time.

I feel like watching QOS tonight.

Every time I watch it I appreciate it more. It’s vastly underrated. Greene’s plan doesn’t seem so ridiculous now for some reason, and the pre-titles chase is one of the most exhilarating.

It’s the finale in the desert hotel that lacks a little something. Looks-wise, the film is gorgeous and there are some cracking set pieces/fights (Tosca, fight with Slate, escape from hotel).

Dare I say it, as a Bond film it is more satisfying than Spectre, which I watched over the weekend. A film which starts amazingly, then just slowly gets worse and worse until a tame pursuit along the Thames ends with Bond exclaiming ‘out of bullets’. Nein Danke.

The QOS finale features two 1-1 battles happening at the same time, and this is much too similar to the same scenario at the end of DAD which was only two films ago back then.

Onto Die Another Day. Only on the PTS, which is very much a declaration of intent; An argument between Fleming’s Moonraker and Movie Bond reminiscing about being in the films Moonraker. I said it on another thread (possibly this one a couple of months ago actually), but this film is far better than it should be thanks to a hugely overqualified ensemble for a cast, an immense score from David Arnold and P&W clearly wanting to write Fleming’s Moonraker despite Tamahori’s best efforts.

Small addendum (that I’m sure @Stbernard will vouch) : Bond walking into the hotel because he knows a dodgy guy there who owes him a favour, is probably the most Irish thing Brosnan’s Bond ever does.

I have my Bond 50 Blu-Ray set with me, and I’m still deciding which movie I’ll watch this week…but I’m leaning towards QoS. I haven’t sat down to watch a Bond movie in ages. The Connery/Moore films are truly like comfort food to me - lots of fond memories watching them as a kid.

It sure is !

Thankfully the shoulder biting is not as culturally acceptable as knowing dodgy people who owe you favours.

Just watched The World Is Not Enough a couple of nights ago for it’s 20th anniversary.

How the hell has it been 20 years since The World Is Not Enough came out?!

Amazing to think it’s 20 years since New Years Eve 1999 - what a party that was!!!

I’ll be giving OHMSS a whirl just in time for Christmas.

Apart from the obvious positives such as cinematography and soundtrack, I like how it presents Bond’s world in a personal and bold way long before Dalton or Craig appeared. Bond offers his resignation (which Moneypenny saves him from), goes rogue (the Piz Gloria raid isn’t MI6 approved) and gets married. We see his office and M’s home. We learn his family motto and we get references to past adventures (the relics and the title sequence hourglass). It all adds up to give Lazenby a strong emotional core that has allowed the film to age like a fine wine.

Just an awesome movie.

Pluto TV has a 24/7 James Bond channel (Ch 7, of course) that’s airing the first 20 EON productions as well as NSNA, CR’67 and CR’54. I’ve watched parts of DAD, TWINE, GE, DN, and DAF. It whetted my appetite for GE, discouraged it for DAD, and made me long for a Connery classic.

I managed to get in a couple of Bonds over the Thanksgiving weekend… I did Goldeneye and Moonraker.

I caught some of of that too. Watched various parts of Thunderball and Goldeneye. Made for a good weekend. The real gem in there is Casino Royale '54 though. Crazy they got that one.

I just looked back through the pages of this thread to try and find out when the last time I watched Skyfall was and apparently it was in December of 2018!! It’s definitely time for another viewing tonight…

I very much feel like watching Skyfall and SPECTRE back to back after seeing this new trailer.

Watching Die Another Day this morning. About time for a whole series rewatch in the ramp up to No Time To Die, but I’ve gotta do Star Wars first.

Yes, time to start a marathon soon in time for April

Have a sudden nostalgia for Goldeneye for some reason. Also, Skyfall and SPECTRE after the trailer.

I’ll be watching OHMSS tonight in honor of its 50th Anniversary! (I may also be having a martini or two while I watch) :sunglasses::cocktail:
