I’m done with Cinema operators.
It‘s quite silly announcing any release dates at this time. With the violence expected in the US there won’t be a return to cinemas anyway in the foreseeable future.

I agree.
At this point it would be best just to pull the dates and advertise when the world has sorted itself out. It might help with those as above who think somehow cinema operators are to blame for all this…!
The distributors, maybe… But only in the belief in false hopes.
Usually, the studios want to claim release dates so competitors flee to another one.
But in these times, I can only repeat: WB made the right decision.

No surprises. They might as well suspend it indefinitely and announce a date once things look as though they are improving. I home Nov 2021 is the final stop, I want to see NTTD very badly, but my hopes are wilfully numbed to any expectations going forward.

It is literally impossible today to nail any date and say for sure November, December ‘21 or even February ‘22 will be the moment we can expect the big opening. Much depends on how far the vaccination effort can reach, also into the segment of people currently not willing to get vaccinated. The variant must be controlled, the economy saved. All of which will largely take place this spring and summer.
We are able to be in a significantly improved situation by November - but only if we avoid the mistakes of last year and if a lot of different procedures run smoothly and reliably until then.

By the way:
Well, maybe NTTD is just to big an audience pleaser to be ever sold to a streamer. Because, you know, the extreme pleasure can barely be contained by a big screen. A TV would go dark immediately.

The longer this goes on, and the more times this movie gets delayed, the less I want to see it purely as a Bond fan, and the more I want to see it just to close this chapter in the times we are living in.

I don’t think it helps at all that it’ll be a six year wait not for a new Bonds debut and direction for the series a la LTK-GE, but rather for a direct sequel to one of the more divisive and questionable in terms of quality films in the series.
Likewise. The M:I movies have become my espionage movie of choice recently.

Tom Cruise is a chump.
Just misguided in his personal beliefs by some greedy conmen.
Apart from that he is one of the most determined filmmakers and actors around, and I applaud his efforts to entertain the world with high class endeavors.
