What do you think about the NTTD release date?

Heard that the release of the latest Bill and Ted film has been moved to 04 September with a simultaneous release at cinemas and on PVOD. Test case for other movies?

I find her…grating and sycophantic

But, yes, positively or negatively, this WILL have an influence over NTTD

Bloody hell! Never seen her before but she seems to be channelling Joan Cusack’s role in Grosse Pointe Blank.

I saw her, oddly, just this morning, talking to Zack Snyder about his Justice League cut for HBO max.

You’ve never seen someone suck up so hard! Snyder actually looked uncomfortable

I bit. I shouldn’t have.

God, she’s unbearable.

I am so sorry. He’s seriously cool, she’s…not

No argument from me, but she has been a reliable source of news.

Her info is good. She herself…a wee bit much

I think that if they made the price somewhere in the $50-$60 dollar range, and made it clear that a certain percentage of the proceeds would go to some kind of Coronavirus relief aimed at the workers who are out of work due to cinemas being closed, that there could be some traction there that might yield a decent profit for them, in addition to theatrical releases in the global market where the virus situation makes sense for it.

For your bigger budget films like Bond, I almost have to think that just turning a profit of any size should be considered a win at this point. If they can turn around and say that they got to the other side of this without losing any money, that would be a win. Between that and the considerably smaller budgets that they will need to be using when it comes time to make another film, it might not be the complete disaster that they might otherwise be staring at.

I really think that a relief package tied to the home video release of NTTD would put MGM ahead of the other studios which so far only repeat the mantra ā€œWE BELIEVE IN THE CINEMA EXPERIENCE, WE BELIEVE IN THE CINEMA EXPERIENCEā€ā€¦ only to turn around and make the inevitable decisions anyway.

But hey, this is business. And MGM would probably tell us: what are you smoking? WE need the relief package. Our yachts are in desperate need of new paint!

Her voice can be somewhat grating, but overall she’s pretty good. Or maybe I’m just biased because she actually liked The Last Jedi.

Total props for that! The Last Jedi is the best of all 11 Star Wars films!!

How dare it break the Lucas rules!

For fear of getting off topic, I’ll quickly mention how I’ve said quite a lot that The Last Jedi is LEAGUES better than the embarrassments that are The Force Awakens and the utterly abysmal Rise of Skywalker.

And when you really think about it, he mostly didn’t. The Last Jedi is more a Star Wars movie than either of the other 2. It’s the only one that actually depicts a STAR WAR! How did either of the other 2 not feature space battles? Star Trek Into Abrams was brimming with them…

I totally agree!

Abahms made (VERY GOOD) fan fics.

Johnson made a true movie!

But you can easily track my love for Rian Johnson. I am bias.

Another delay:

I had to look it up and was shocked that it’s been eleven years since Avatar was released. At this point, I’d honestly be surprisedif these sequels ever get made.

Not entirely sure why we need five Avatar movies in total. Is there really an audience for that many instalments?

Cameron has an ego. His films have people taking laps of the sets to make sure you truly love the set he made round clippys script.

Didn’t even need the one we already have. Saw it in cinema but only went because of the 3D novelty value. Just another white saviour movie…

What I’d really love to see (and I’m waiting for that for 17 years now) is another Master & Commander.

Abrams is very good at fan service, well until Rise of Skywalker when it was terrible. He’s great at setting up mysteries, but awful when he has to actually provide answers. Ex: Lost had terrific mysteries set up, but ultimately gave very poor and underwhelming and potentially lore-breaking answers to them. Then he had to course-correct Star Wars when Rian Johnson decided to not give the easy answers to questions from TFA that Abrams so embarrassingly telegraphs. Rey was obviously going to be a true Skywalker originally and the Palpatine ā€œtwistā€ was only created when Johnson killed off Snoke.

Couldn’t agree more. I felt like most of the praise it got was from those that felt like they had to praise it because they loved Titanic.

I wish that Cameron could just drop the pretense of his work and just give us another great film. I would imagine he could probably garner more goodwill among moviegoers if he were to actually get back in the director’s chair and give us a good Terminator film rather than another Avatar, which is essentially just Ferngully meets Dances With Wolves.
