Who do you want for Bond 7?

I donā€™t believe Jackman was outright offered the role, but I do believe he was invited to audition. Does anyone know exactly where this one falls?

Asked if heā€™d like to audition seems more likely,

He starred with Craig in the BB-produced Broadway play. Maybe ComingSoon.net tries to mingle stories to jump on the casting train?

Are you suggesting that a click bait site would post click bait on a slow day?!?!

And shouldnā€˜t they rather post rumours about AVATAR 7,8,9 right now? Who cares about Bond at this time?

Itā€™s has been described as ā€œJackman Turned Down Bondā€ since at least 2017. Thereā€™s nothing new here, I just posted it because it was a new interview.

It seems the general thought here is that describing it as ā€œturned down the roleā€ is overstating the situation and clickbait. I somewhat disagree and think it might be a bit unfair to the sites. I think turning down overtures by Eon to discuss the part and audition is akin to turning down the role.

Thatā€™s how I read the headline, anyway.

I 100% agree with you on this one. Nowhere in the interview does he ever claim he turned down an offer of any sort. His agent simply gauged his level of interest. I completely believe that he really was on EONā€™s radar at the time though.

He was on mine. Hugh Jackman was my #1 choice for James Bond #6. And he remains my biggest regret/what if of a potential Bond actor that didnā€™t get the role.

My top pick this time around for James Bond #7 is Henry Cavill. But having said that, Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be an interesting choiceā€“and one I would now be in favor of. Before Bullet Train, I wouldnā€™t have considered him too seriously as 007. Maybe it was the use of his (British) accent in the film that helped set me straight, but he was great in that and very physicalā€“good with the action as well as being very solid in the comedic moments. Right now, he likely is my number two choice.

Funny how Aaron is finally being noticed. Wonder if there is any truth to the reports. Hope there is.

In the remote chance Cavill got the role Iā€™d like him to tone his build down considerably, because thatā€™s not how I see Bond looking. Johnsonā€™s physique seems more appropriate. Craig was built, especially in Casino Royale, but anything more than that would be excessive. I also agree about Johnson handling the lighter elements well. Like Irrigator Iā€™m starting to hope thereā€™s some truth to the reports.

Watching Season 2 of Gangs of London, Sope Dirisu remains top of my wishlist for #7, actually reminds me of 2002 I think, watching Tomb Raider and thinking DC would be a perfect James Bond.

He wonā€™t be Bond.

Chadha is referring to the articles weā€™ve all seen and crossing her fingers. If it was Deadline making a claim themselves about Johnsonā€™s future I wouldā€™ve taken this one more seriously.

I donā€™t think the director of Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging has really had a continuing deep friendship with Aaron that she would know anything about his career - seems she just likes people in her films going on to do bigger things so she gets the clout haha, which you know, go for it

I like the idea of someone in the Johnson age range as they would automatically make the franchise feel fresh again. It would be a 20 year age difference following on from Craig and No Time To Die. Give us a rock song like You Know My Name to accompany the new guy and weā€™re set.
