Minor bit of news that slipped by…
Yeah, noticed that while watching something of theirs recently…
Tried the monthly free trial of Amazon Prime and all the Bonds have disappeared! Just The Sound Of 007 and the reality show are in the catalogue.
Anyone else noticed this? Did I miss something?
They would seem to be on and off at times. I suppose you only get them permanently if you book the MGM channel.
Prime always puts up some movies for free, then charges money for them, then offers them as free Prime content again and so on.
Oh.
Another streamer while others fusion into one?
I have no idea why Amazon essentially runs 2 streaming services. You would think they would just add the MGM library into their Prime service…
Well if they can let you pay for two instead of one…
So they can charge people for two different services. Why pay an insanely inflated price for one subpar streaming service when you can pay double that for two subpar streaming services?
They can charge for a 2nd service but they also have to pay to RUN a 2nd service, and we all know these things aren’t profitable. It feels like consolidating operations under one roof would make sense considering that.
I think though my main point in bringing it up was just that I’m surprised that with the studio being called Amazon/MGM Studios that they aren’t more interested in heightening that brand.
I would have thought Amazon would be shouting to the rafters that they now own properties like James Bond, but the way things are they’re separating themselves from them…
Precisely. Apart from DC and some LOTR stuff, the franchise is arguably the biggest asset Amazon has in their portfolio and they just shove it aside? Don’t get it…
Oh well… Here’s my opinion about this strategy:
Your comment makes me wonder how much it would cost to run a second service, especially when the first service is as large as Amazon Prime. Maybe they can nest it inside Prime, and the costs are minimal.
Maybe they need the new stream of revenue that much.
I assume that this 2nd service has something to do with anti-trust laws.
I had to look up what DEIA meant - Diversity Equity Inclusion Accessibility
Ok… and what does THAT mean?
I WANT THE LOGO BACK
I could swear I’ve heard that headline twice before…
