News on NO TIME TO DIE (no spoilers)

I’m personally a little bit dubious, Baz’s sources are normally very accurate, but here we’re supposed to believe someone sold a highly negative report to a tabloid journalist - is there a price that would make someone say things that would get them fired and never work again?

If you think I’m exaggerating - would you work with someone willing to throw you and your work under a bus just to make a quick buck?

Baz, on the other hand, would be following the company line with this story given the scum who sign his pay checks are chucking the same rubbish as the provably false Sun stories from a few weeks ago…

Surprised they’ve wrapped in Jamaica already. I hope this doesn’t mean Bond 25 only features it fleetingly, because there’s so much potential in that location.

Obviously globetrotting will always be part and parcel of the film and the character, but personally I like it when each film has a strong identity connected to one of its geographical areas more than others. When you can look back at that Bond film in 10-20 years time and name the country or at least picture the scenes vividly in your head. It’s where an individual film’s ‘iconic’ status comes from, I think, as opposed to just another successful franchise blockbuster with highly impressive scenes in several locations, but which don’t become remarkable when remembered alongside all the others.

While Bond films seem inherently linked to this idea of being forever bigger and better, I think a really great producer and scriptwriter would understand how to implement the concept of ‘less is more’ into such a film without diminishing its success.

Yeah, it does seem to be a brief linking prologue to the main plot. We know he’s fishing, driving a car and meeting Felix at least once. The majority of the footage may centre around Bond’s house.

And therefore shot at Pinewood. Very good point!

This. The things actually filmed in Jamaica will be things that couldn’t be done in a more manageable location. See ALL of Shanghai in Skyfall.

There is a strong sense from all the Mail stories that the brief is to have a negative angle from all Bond reporting.

Which is why I’m ignoring most of it. I’m beyond excited for any and all news. Just the sheer fact that we are less than a year away from a new Bond film (finally) and that it’s filming, we know it’s coming. If it stinks, it stinks. I’d rather have a bad Bond than no Bond.

I’ve always found that the latest film never really feels like ‘canon’ until after the next one comes out, and our concerns about whether the last one is the new direction for the series is confirmed or allayed.
Weird, I know, and perhaps that’s just me, but also perhaps Spectre will feel more like canon once B25 has been viewed, accepted and/or criticized ad nauseum (to taste).

I also prefer the travelogue aspect of the earlier films, with a strong connection to the countries they were set in.

But it´s not about the writer or the director - it´s always about the money. These days, the costs of moving or hiring a big crew and keep them in a foreign country for a long period of time are always considered to high. That is the reason why Bond films have stopped doing this, unfortunately. The idea is always: can we do this someplace cheaper, doubling for the real location? Or even worse: fake it with green screen.

Just the fact that BOND 25 spend a week in Jamaica already is a reason to be happy.

A source heard a rumour…

Nothing shaky there…

I hope DC has read Sir Roger´s memoirs.

His officially licensed bond on bond book isn’t exactly glowing about her…

Supposedly, Fukunaga wants to dig deeper into Swann, provided this translation is anything to go by…

Would probably be nice to flesh out her character more. Her characterization was all over the place in Spectre.

It really wasn’t, she liked him but not his job. That didn’t change, you might not have liked it, but they were consistent. I imagine it still hadn’t in 25, leading to them breaking up.

Interesting detail in that article - he was up for this job before the Boyle experiment, so they really did just continue as they were, complete with going back to the pre-Hodge script and looking at the same directors they were looking at pre-Boyle.

And there was that incident during the filming of the love scene…

Just putting “…” at the end of that sentence already feels raunchy.

I’ve not read the book. These details intrigue me.

It’s no big secret, the anecdote is going around on the net for many years already.

When the intimate scene between May Day and Bond was shot for AVTAK, Jones was wearing a ‘device’ under the covers and surprised Moore with it.

That said, this incident wasn’t the only reason Grace Jones was regarded as, well, particular by her colleagues. It used to be different times and some stars revelled in their diva attitude. No doubt some still do today, but the self styled divas are seldom held in high regard, now and then.

Ah, yes. Now I recall. Sounds like she was a bit of a dick.
