NO TIME TO DIE Spoilers (production pictures & videos)

Because judging by what everybody is wearing, Bond had only just gotten Felix’s plea for help in the prior scene. That’s also why I don’t think he had been working the case up to this point - Felix had just now brought it to him.

To bring this back to my initial comment - I get that Nomi might be telling him to “stay retired” and let her handle it - I’m just curious to see why the shooting in the knee and “the one that works” jab were included…

I’m guessing something happens at the club. She see’s Bond, recognises him, tells him not to do what Felix asked, scene escalates into an action scene where Bond, is Bond, leading to the scene where she threatens to shoot him in the knee.

But I am blindly guessing.

I think, either she is looking for Bond, or they are going after the same thing and Nomi is on official business while Bond isn’t and Bond may be getting in her way.

I agree with this. Bond notices Nomi (who he doesn’t know yet) tailing him at the bar in Jamaica. He doesn’t take kindly to it, and causes a scene. They then talk back at his house, where she explains who she is, and perhaps find out they are both planning to infiltrate the Spectre party in Cuba.

It’s noticeable that their approaches differ there - Bond dons a dinner jacket to infiltrate the party itself with Paloma, whereas Nomi keeps her distance in tactical gear.

It will be interesting to see whether Felix reappears at any other part of the movie apart from Jamaica, and what exactly the deal is with Billy Magnussen.

We know he filmed in London as well

By assignment, I meant what Felix asks him to do that will take him out of retirement. I was speculating searching for this missing scientist might also be Nomi’s job, and when they meet she telling him to stay in his own lane.

Right - the point I’m trying to make is that I understand Nomi is trying to tell Bond to stay in his own lane - there just seems to be some added animosity present in the way she does it, and I’m curious where THAT comes from.

You would imagine Double O’s to be professional with one another, not threatening them with a shot in the knee or making light of a retired agent’s injuries from his service. There seems to be something extra going on there and that specifically is the part I’m curious to know the background of.

Anyway, moving on…

To help clarify how I viewed it, I worked in the Aerospace & Defense industry for 31 years. Every now and then, the company would bring in these retired guys (who hadn’t set foot inside our doors in decades) and have them be the “so-called” experts to tell us how to do our jobs. On more than one occasion, I wished I could “put a bullet in one of their knees” because I knew their hard-heads & weaknesses could potentially affect our work. Obviously I never had the nerve to vocalize that. That’s how I viewed it, but I do see your point. Perhaps Bond had a run-in with her before that will surface since his question of “You’re a double-0” seems to indicate he doesn’t believe it. Will be fun to see how this plays out.

Kinda wierd to judge

Another write-up about the action vehicles. I think we already know most of this, but maybe a few new snippets.

Interesting details, in particular about the DB5. One very thoughtful upgrade to the gadgets. Nice!

The mines and LED numberplate details are new.

Have to say, I’m a DB5 enthusiast but I’m more excited to see Dalton’s Aston this time. I’m not sure how big of a role it has - or if they go the gadget route with that too. I’m thinking not, but who knows?

Yeah the LED plates are a good idea, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. Still, pretty funny to think that a car that noticeable may be disguised if the plates are different. I hope we get a good gag out of that.

The Department of Motor Vehicles in Sacramento, California, has been piloting smart license plates since 2018. The idea was approved in 2013.

What’d be even cooler is a grip identification technology on the steering wheel. Remember how only Bond can fire his gun in Skyfall? That could prevent car thefts if only the registered owner could drive it.

Something upon their arrival in Matera would be the best bet. The fact it’s been specifically mentioned means there’s a strong likelihood we’ll get something, even if it’s a line of dialogue. It does feel like a proper modern update, much like TLD having laser beams instead of the GF rotating tyre slashers.

Still waiting on that laser beam tech (looking at you, Elon.) I mean, it’s been over 20 years. Come on!

Just had a thought: What if Bond goes back home and finds 00-Lynch inside, getting a taste of his own medicine? (Breaking inside Dench M’s house in both CR and SF). “So that’s what that feels like.”

Looks like she’s been there a while, her wigs on the bed.
