Why are we still holding on to him Dr No? It started from Malek doing what he does again in that EW feature of saying it was his first Bond film, so is still kind of his favourite. There is nothing in the actual material from the film to support it so far.
Why not? Once we know, then all this speculation fun is over for another 4 years. Relax and enjoy
Iām also wondering if Felix loses any limbs this time.
well, quite, we have another 4 years going by the other 3 times MGM didnāt already have funding in place. I just think, given the origin of this oddly persistent rumour was frankly stupid, it would be massively lucky on GMAās part that their accident gave them a scoop.
Indeed, though my suspicions arenāt peaked by that, but rather the noh mask, as well as the paraphernalia in his lair (I posted the images a short while ago).
May well be a coincidence (unlikely), red herrings (why bother?), or relics from an old draft in which he was DN.
Either way, I love a guessing game!
Would chime nicely with the novels, but if itās Wrightās last time as Felix it may be moot to cyborg him up. Unless thereās a time jump (as has been suggested) giving Felix time to recover and make a late surprise entrance with his new limbs.
btw, Heās the one character Iād definitely recast to be the same age as the next Bond, since theyāre supposed to be peers.
Me too.
#MeToo?
Donāt get me wrong, I donāt want him to be Dr. No. Iām just trying to prepare myself in case he is.
The reasons come down to the characterās appearance, the Noh mask, the word āNoā in the title and āDr. Noā being the only non Craig Bond film on the inspiration wall for the fan art contest (which could be a deliberate red herring). There may be more but thereās a separate thread for all the arguments as to why or why not.
From Russia With Love was featured twice, and the Noh mask seems more like it was chosen to look creepy. Having Dr No connected with Spectre was entirely a film thing, the only other times a film has purposefully revisited a character from a previous film, itās to use Book elements that had been lost. Even when they looked at Blofeld they shyed away from film exclusive things, despite the film exclusive things being the iconic elements of the character.
Also; props for bracing for the worst. Better to be pleasantly surprised than let down.
I grit my teeth everytime someone makes that jokeā¦my dentist will be grateful.
Yea, that does seem plausible.
It was? I only saw the screen grab that was shared here. Agreed the mask was chosen for its appearance rather than a coincidental name; form follows function.
āBond!!! BACK IN ACTION!ā Text print as well as the actual FRWL main poster were there. The point, to me (and I could be wrong, Iām human, it wouldnt be the first time) was to show the range for how Bond started, to how it is now.
I assumed that for a long time but, so far, we only know of the Jamaica car and bar scenes - so hard to know how much Felix we get and what might happen to him.
The Latvian distributor for the film Forum Cinemas appears to be also reporting the 174 minute runtimeā¦before today they previously had 1 min as a placeholder.
Interesting, seems they really expect to come up with a longish running time.
Are there any figures on how long past movies were reported by them at this stage?
I wouldnāt be surprised if we wound up around the 2 hour 45 minute mark with credits, but if this thing stretches to 3 hours so be it. Weāre saying goodbye to someone who for a lot of us has made a huge impact in our lives over the last 14 years. Letās do this right.
Indeed. Because we know Felix has scenes in Jamaica, Iāve been assuming he only has scenes in Jamaica. Iāve had a theory that Felix approaches Bond and his offer is politely refused, but an attack on Felixās life quickly changes Bondās attitude, setting up the filmsā main events.
It isnāt the most family friendly runtime, but Iām hoping for this. The runtimes have increased from Skyfall to SPECTRE, so I could see them doing it again.
