No Time to Die theme song

Oh God, just remembered her smash hit Lion King album… the Gift that never gave

Not at all thrilled if it turns out to be true, but I’ll take it over an Adele return.

They were great during filming, but Sassi Live also posted a near identical article last summer about Dua Lipa coming to Matera to shoot her Bond music video too - so I’m a bit wary.

Didn’t catch that one, thanks for the heads up-

Clever move - as I said, marketing-wise. Not that I’m expecting any “good” from it. Some generic R’n’B thing. How I miss the old days, when R’n’B was “Rhythm and Blues”, not “Repetitive and Boring”.

Haha some v informed tweets responding to the news… “IF SHE DOES…every single person who sang the theme for James Bond movie has won an Oscar thus far…this mean Beyoncé Oscar…I’ve connected the dots”

  • I believe Matt Monro, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones (though the movie called Tom Jones won, so that might count), Nancy Sinatra, Paul McCartney, Lulu, Sheena Easton, Duran Duran, a-ha, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Garbage, Madonna, Chris Cornell, Alicia Keys and Jack White would like a word

Not a Beyoncé fan but she has talent and she has a following. This would be a huge grab by EON.

I bet she can turn out a great Bond tune. I just wonder if they’ll include her in the credits like Sheena Easton.

Not a Beyoncé fan myself - but getting her will add to the “we are only getting the most famous people here”-effect, and NO TIME TO DIE will really be perceived as a premium product.

I do like her voice, by the way, and I would be absolutely relaxed if she were to sing the new song.

If, as many have suggested, getting Beyonce is a smart move because she’s a big name who’s sold lots of tickets to the masses, then they should hire Michael Bay to direct Mark Wahlberg as Bond 7.

People did whinge about the action scenes under Mendes…

So that’s Michael Bay’s Bond 26 sorted! Marky Mark is James MF’ing Bond up against Megatron in Transformerfinger… Sheeran sings the title song ‘Big Explosions’!

She’s a good voice with talent. That rules out Michael Bay and I’ll let you judge for yourself Wahlberg”s talent.

I wish the outcry over that was a little more. I really hope NTTD makes up for the dull action set pieces of its predecessors

Maybe we finally get a big battle at the end?

God I hope it’s not Beyonce. Though I’ve long stopped expecting to like Bond theme songs.

I recently watched the Tom Cruise flick Edge of Tomorrow aka Live Die Repeat. I thought the John Newman dance track Love Me Again that kicked in with the closing credits worked phenomenally well. I’m not suggesting that particular track would have been a good fit for a Bond theme per se (though Newman could probably come up with an interesting one), but it was a reminder that ‘great fit for the film’ can co-exist with enormous commercial success.

At least Bond songs are actually written for the film instead of just dropping in whatever pop song a record label/sync manager thinks is good to drop in…

True, but there are so many songs I’ve heard over the years that would’ve made a better Bond theme than the ‘designed for’ one we ended up with.

sure, but regardless of taste - Bond has never just needle dropped a current pop song
