No Time to Die theme song

Daily Variety has jumped on the story. Still no official confirmation.

My 13 year old daughter loves Bond (I introduced her at a young age) and she loves Billie. Needless to say she’s ecstatic about this news.

Interesting, all of the pieces are nearly in place now. I wonder when the song will drop. This also seems early when compared to the last several films.

Didn’t take long for the press to pick it up - I’m already getting news notifications on my phone

Don’t know her, I’m sure she’ll be good though.

Just as a reminder this is likely the last Bond artist announcement we’ll get to pour over for a while. We’re really approaching the end of the road.

You don’t suppose that they’d premiere the song at the upcoming Grammy Awards on January 26th do you? She is one of the headliners to sing.

She’s also up for several herself, would be a good PR boost…

I’m worried that if Zimmer wrote it it will just be Eilish going “BRAAAAM” for 3mins.

I’ll show myself out.

First thoughts: I have to admit I find the thought of an 18 year old doing a James Bond title song really odd, with it being an adult type franchise and all that. I also have no idea who she is.

Let’s wait and see what the song sounds like, I guess.

18 is an adult in Britain…

The absolute earliest someone can be classified as one. But you know what I mean, anyway. She’s really young. Just find this to be a really interesting and left field choice.

Anywhoo, I’m guessing the song is actually called No Time To Die, given they talk about it as an already recorded track, but dont mention a title.

I am not at all familiar with Billie Eilish beyond spot hitting a few videos, but I do appreciate that she’s not a standard pop diva and has some atmosphere in her music. While Beyonce is clearly a more traditional choice with a much larger vocal range, I like the fact that this is a bit more daring. And at the end of the day, Kleinman’s visuals can sell most anything (with the possible exception of Sam Smith’s incessant falsetto for an entire song!).

I’m also wondering, if her song relates to Madeline’s back story, as hinted at in the trailer, her much younger age would be very fitting.

Indeed. In any case, I’m not worried. If it sounds and looks good on screen I won’t have a problem.

Quite true.

Between her and Beyonce, I would have preferred Beyonce just because she’s older and has more “baggage” for a gig like this.

However, as Q says in SF: “Age is no guarantee of efficiency.”
…then again “youth is no guarantee of innovation.”

I hope it’s good.
