No Time to Die theme song

Or BTS!

I find it fascinating no one has mentioned this weird sound by Zimmer is very similar to the opening titles of Dr. No.

so it has always been the same…two really great singers, two hot shit of the week and two who some of the producers favored. So maybe a great singer for the next film :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

At 51, I am also a big fan of hers.

Looks like the Oscars next weekend may be the night…

My gut says this is about her singing one or all of the nominated songs or maybe something with the in memoriam segment.

Would be a bit awkward for her to be singing a song that could then be nominated next year where it would have to be sung again…

Looks like the Oscars next weekend is definitely the night.

That would be a great birthday gift for me, as Feb 9th is mine.

She isn’t a medley kind of singer.

Whatever it will be, she’ll certainly have the eyes on her.

As someone not as up on music as I am (believing myself to be) up on film, there have been no artists I did not care much for that then delivered an amazing song in its own right.

I believe I hear things visually so all the tracks have taken on their own life form for me when I subsequently have seen and then later visualise the titles sequences upon hearing the track in isolation. You Know My Name being one prime example where the titles were bang on for this song.

The artists I did like, and had by the time of the theme songs’ releases bought CDs for etc., were Garbage and A-Ha. And their theme songs I liked.

Billie Eilish is quite new for me because the Bond world has introduced her to me and, so far, I am listening to her repertoire most days. And I love it.

The sound of a Bond film is quite important to me for the whole experience. For me, Moonraker was elevated into a world of its own because of the theme song and the soundtrack. Of recent late, Thomas Newman / Adele / Sam Smith did their thing but while the production may have been masterful, it all passed me by as being really quite workman like. Bugger all memorable when compared to Moonraker’s sound.

Anyway, all this to say for the first time in a long time, I can bloody not wait for what she does, and what Zimmer does with her.

Fair play to Eon.

Hate to repeat myself here but there never is enough Shirley Bassey in the Bond canon…

I always count “No good about goodbye” as one of hers - and I think it should have been the theme song for Quantum of Solace.

Apparently she is singing during the In Memoriam segment. It won’t be the new theme song.

But the Bond team will be pleased to have her front and centre once more, after the Grammys triumph.

That hasn’t been confirmed anywhere though, just one of the theories as to what she could perform.

I don’t think they’d announce and actually promote on social media in this way if it was In Memoriam…

What better time to sing a song titled No Time to Die than the In Memoriam section…no?

She is of course singing the No Time to Die theme. What else could it be- if it was In Memoriam they wouldn’t have even bothered advertising it.

I suspect EON had this arranged with The Academy all along, a great opportunity to market Craig’s swansong via the Oscars, and with who better, than a Grammy Award winning singer at the forefront of the zeitgeist.

You mean like this?

Guys, it’s become a tradition in the last few years to feature a singer for that segment. The last few have been Eddie Vedder, Sara Bareilles, Dave Grohl, and Jennifer Hudson.

There is also need for singers to perform the nominated songs. That happened last year when Kacey Musgraves also won album of the year at the Grammy’s then was quickly announced for the Oscars for that segment.

It makes all the sense in the world to advertise a performance by the music industry’s hottest name. We don’t know this for sure, of course, but Eilish being used for one of these other tasks is much more plausible than performing a song that in all likelihood will need to be performed at next years Oscars as well…

Sure, but was looking back and like, her or Grohl or Vedder - or The Academy - didn’t really advertise their performances on their social media in this manner, besides a press release and trade press. Closest case is Grohl, which was like Eilish first announced as a ‘special performance’.

Also there’s no need really to perform the nominated songs, ABC has been trying to cut down on this last year but it was met with backlash. Getting a head start and getting the Bond one out of the way this year would help them in that regard for the 2021 ceremony (not to mention extra $$$ that MGM/UA would pay for the song to be premiere this year).

In any case, if the Oscars don’t turn out, the rumour floating around on the other place is The BRIT Awards the following weekend (where Eilish has been confirmed to perform)… but from a promo POV the Oscars would more than make up for no Super Bowl presence.

(oh and I know it’s kinda odd to bank on things based on social media likes but Cary liked her post about the Oscars performance on Insta! And I don’t think the emoji she used quite screams ‘hey I’m doing In Memoriam’)

Let me also remind you that this years In Memoriam segment is already a big topic of discussion because it will likely include the current biggest news story, Kobe Bryant…

This is not a hill I would die on…
