No Time to Die theme song

Whether or not I like Billie Eilish’s style (don’t have albums and not rushing out for them), I respect that she and her brother are actual musicians with instruments and create new music, as opposed to most of what else is out there. And I like her Bond song. Basically, they can stay on my lawn for a while. :slightly_smiling_face:

My two cents:

I’ve listened to it around eight times. The first time I couldn’t understand a lot of the words and was disappointed in Billie Eilish’s whispering singing–though it isn’t as bad/noticeable as much as a handful of her regular stuff I’ve heard.

The second time, I listened to it while following the lyrics and I understood the song and liked it better. The lyrics are good and definitely seem to suit the film. As others have said, the song is haunting and should go great with whatever Daniel Kleinman comes up with for the main titles.

The more I’ve heard the song, the more I like it, but, similar to Sam Smith’s horrible falsetto in Writing’s On The Wall which severely crippled an otherwise solid song, Eilish’s whispering–while nowhere near as grating on the ears–still detracts a bit from the song, or at least doesn’t do anything to enhance it.

So overall, I like the song but don’t love it. It actually sits toward the bottom of my rankings around number 21. It could move up a little I suppose after watching the main titles, but for now that’s where it is.

My ranking of the Daniel Craig songs:

  1. You Know My Name (Casino Royale)
  2. Skyfall
  3. Another Way To Die (Quantum Of Solace)
  4. No Time To Die
  5. Writing’s On The Wall (SPECTRE)

I don’t think has been posted yet:

EDIT: Apparently news outlets have mistakenly posted this as legit, but it’s a fan edit. Sorry.

Just saw a short interview with Eilish on the news in The Netherlands and the male interviewer had a couple of very “original” questions (maybe I don’t remember it exactly):

Interviewer: Do you think Bondgirls are sexy stereotypes and will you change that?

Eilish: They are all different types of women, the only thing they have in common is they are HOT, they are HOT!

Interviewer: Must there be a new female Bond?

Eilish: Why do we want to change everything what is old? Leave the classic alone and come up with something new!

My type of girl! Great answers on stupid questions!

I found the complete interview. Wow! It’s much longer, in the news item ,they edited a lot.

Does Finneas look like Joel McHale to anyone else?

What would No Good About Goodbye during the end credits do for you?

I’m a gunbarrel fan but I think QoS would’ve worked better without one. I would have preferred the following: Bond drops the love knot into the snow, the screen fades to black and ‘Crawl, End Crawl’ immediately begins. A subdued but tonally consistent ending, allowing Bond’s “I never left” line to linger in the audience’s mind.

And the inevitable covers have begun! This one’s pretty good with a bit of Skyfall and WOTW mixed in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNhW9rlLGsI&list=WL&index=96&t=0s

GMA interview with Eilish, Finneas and Zimmer

Finneas is very good at interviews. Interesting tidbit that Zimmer orchestrated it, which puts Eilish and her brother ahead of Smith, who didn’t even know who did the orchestration on WOTW.

Grief, they’re turning these around quick snap.

The first of the two links was an ingenious linking up of the three tracks.

Isn’t he just.

At 22, a ridiculously mature head on his shoulders with a nice line in wry wit.

That still hurts…

Loved the Brits performance, hearing it properly with Marr playing guitar, it sounded lush and epic and new , which are three words I would use to describe NTTD so far.

Are we thinking it was a live or lip-synced performance?
