No Time To Die - Trailer #2 (spoilers discussion)

Understood, but given the fact that the film has been in the can for months now, as has the score, it seems a possibility. Also, the prominence of the guitar in the bridge leaping scene had me remembering Johnny Marr’s involvement; I’m not aware of ever having heard that specific cue before. You may be right, but it’s worth speculation…nothing better to do!

I’m glad the trailer didn’t reveal too much new stuff, as I don’t want the entire movie spoiled before I enter the theater. Agreed fully on the amazing visuals.

As for the Moore / Brosnan elements, this movie may actually succeed at what SP was going for: a blend of classic Bond with Craig’s distinct style. I also appreciate that the stakes seem really high in this one (a clear progression from CR / QoS).

My only slight uneasiness, having seen a bit more of the movie from this trailer, is that there are clearly quite a few key visual effects employed - sea plane arrival, car flip, missiles being fired and landing. They all look decent enough from the trailer, but my big concern is that they would be obvious enough to take you out of the moment of the reality of the movie. Time will tell. But for now, wow, can’t wait.

Car flip isn’t cgi. It’s more akin to back screen projection. Daniel Craig was standing there, and the car did actually flip. Just not at the same time.

My biggest concern (again): Bond actually dying at the end.

His line (and delivery of it) “If we don’t do this there will be nothing left to save” seems to suggest that someone has to sacrifice himself for the sake of humanity. And this would be a bitter irony: Bond actually finding his peace at the end by finding his time to die.

Every other thriller I would applaud for that ending. A Bond film? Please, don’t. I´m too much of a child for that.

Do you think Bond puts that log in front of the vehicle, luring it to crash?

The thought has crossed my mind but I’m not too worried. The stakes seem very high - higher than any other Craig film as millions are set to die, and Bond appears to be a selfless hero. He could be presumed dead, but I personally don’t see it being outright.

Didn’t realise that. Thanks.

Although I suppose if it still doesn’t seem ‘real’, the effect is the same.

I really can’t see it being such a downer of an ending. Bond is effectively a cinematic superhero, after all. I currently think the most likely ending is with Bond being assumed dead by all the main protagonists, continuing with their lives, and the very last shot being of Bond watching on - with the assumption that he goes on to reveal that he’s very much alive. Similar to the end of season 2 of the Sherlock TV series, for those who have seen it.

I really like that this trailer leads us as an audience to expect more this time. This has been said many times before, but Thunderball took the Bond films up a notch on the spectacle meter, and this has a similar feel to it. Outstanding.

I thought the shot of Bond and Madeline smiling while driving was from the finale - but now realise it’s likely from the extended PTS, driving to Matera. Wouldn’t rule out an ending like that, though. It’s a brilliant trailer because I get a modern TSWLM type vibe, but it absolutely still has that Craig era feel.

Trailer was so packed it reminded me of the old Bond box set trailer/advertisement that packaged scenes from different movies.

And then you get ‘Angry Craig’.

He does do angry very well.

Two things.

  1. I’m surprised they’re still pressing ahead with the November release plan. Very happy, but surprised.

  2. This looks great. Wall-to-wall action. Looks like it could be a great send-off for Craig.

Wow…just WOW!! :scream::smiley: This trailer is spectacular!! Definitely two :+1:t3::+1:t3: for me! Roll on November! :cocktail::sunglasses:

Wow! Just, wow. Stunning visuals, and the musical score certainly got my blood pumping.

But I must say, the part that really got to me was Bond saying, “If we don’t do this, there will be nothing left to save.” Craig’s Bond has uttered similar lines before. But this time, he delivers it with the kind of raw emotion I’ve been waiting for since … well, since 2006. It took me full circle back to Casino Royale, with all the passion and angst Craig infused in Bond then. I’m all in!

That line makes it seem as if, finally, Craig’s Bond is truly out to save the world.

I heard it differently (probably because of what is happening in the United States right now)–more along the lines of order needing to be restored.

I like the exchange between Bond and Paloma. The little smile she gives when revealing the tux.

That’s what I was going to say, but you guys beat me to it - twice.
