Who do you want for Bond 7?

It’s nice to have some company :beers:

Some times people mistake free speech for universal agreement with their opinion. There are no laws against saying anything stupid, hateful or politically incorrect. And other people that don’t like what was said get to say so, sometimes in a way which is also not well received.
That’s what the First Amendment does–prevents Congress from making such laws. You can still be shamed, ridiculed, fired, and ostracized for what you say, but if you are not in jail, guess what? Your free speech was protected.

Aidan Turner is still my pick - I think he’d be fantastic. Good actor and has ‘the look’.

New Year, New Brit Press rumor, this time a 52 year old Granddad. Though he has been a favourite actor of mine and is utterly amazing as Dracula watch it everyone!

It is very good, and very clearly a Gatiss baby. Suppose it’s just what happens when you lead a BBC drama, you get immediately suggested to play Bond.

If successful that seems to be the rule, he’s bloody good though

Works even if you lead on ITV…

Well, it’s nice to know who definitely isn’t going to be Bond.

Very reassuring

He’d be fine, I guess, but I’m not on the Cavill bandwagon. Cinema is a different beast, so to be completely honest, I would rather someone without other big franchise baggage (Superman). Someone who is relatively known but can be completely identified and defined by the role of Bond, much like how Craig was. Moore was the Saint, Brosnan was Remington Steele, Aidan Turner was Poldark. I’m really feeling it, although don’t want to set my hopes up too high!

I like Cavill - but I would prefer now someone completely new, someone nobody has on their radar now.

Just surprise us!

Just got round to watching the first episode of Dracula. While Bang as Bond would be ridiculous he does have all the hallmarks of a great Bond villain.

He certainly does! He also made a very entertaining villain in The Girl In The Spider Web.

‘Bang on Bond’ from IMDb…

[on Bond rumors] I really love Daniel Craig in that part. I actually have been talking to Barbara Broccoli, but about another project. I think, if she was thinking along those lines, she probably would have said it. But I don’t know. She has said absolutely nothing, so it’s just a rumor. I think what started the rumor was this hashtag that started trending ‘#BangforBond’ which does have a ring to it.

He also says Richard Burton is his idol, so he has great taste. Bang would’ve been a very good bond, but alas 52 is not even in the ball park for bond 7. But, as Vanya said he’d make a superb villain.

How’s the movie ? I’m planning on watching it some time soon.

It’s not as thematically and visually interesting as Fincher’s Dragon Tattoo. But it doesn’t get narratively lost, like Dragon Tattoo and is a far more rewarding watch for it.

The cast do good work (particularly Bang) and It has a couple of gripping moments. You can do far worse than kill a couple of hours with Spider’s Web

Definitely giving it a watch then

He’s superb as Dracula and was imo the best thing about Spiders Web, he could be an excellent villain
